Loved snorkeling here. Found starfish and lots of colorful fish. The water is so clear and blue and it's a calm area to swim. Be careful of the coral and don't stand on it.

The best place to snorkel, we saw a barracuda, trumpet fish, murene eel, spotted eel, sergeant majors (so cute!) huuuuge angelfish who approach you too!

This is where the snorkel tours come, for good reason. Lots of fish, calm water. Fairly easy to get into water.

Just drive up here (plenty of parking/free), or walk (~20-25 min north from Marriot hotels). Bring your own snorkel gear. Tons of schools of fish! Just snorkel to the right of the beach and a little outwards into the sea. Unfortunately this beach is not labeled, but you can tell which it is because there are a lot of people... More

Boca Catalina is a good off the beach snorkeling site. You know you are in the right place because you see the tour boats arrive here with a boatload of snorkelers. The beach is rocky, so it can be a bit difficult getting into the water. However, no current or waves. There is no need to swim out where the... More

This is the beach where all the boats stop for snorkeling. If you swim well and you bring your own gear you can do your own snorkeling and explore. Well worth it! Once you get to the beach if you head to your left you can walk across to a hidden bit with some private houses. They have their own... More

Bocca Catalina is a good off the beach snorkeling site. No current or waves. A bit rocky off the shore so be careful where you enter. We just watched what everyone else was doing. Lots of fish. We saw flatfish, squid, starfish, puffer fish, and all the usual Caribbean reef inhabitants. It can be a bit crowded at times as... More

Beach has a lot of rocks but the fish nearby are worth the effort. It is easier to reach starting from arashi beach

Is is difficult to find snorking spots without having to pay for a tour. This place is great for snorkling; specially if you are a good swimmer. Some areas were deep. I saw a lot of tour boats docked. I assume that most of this tour facilites bring the crowd here. You can do this for free as is right... More

We ended up going back over several days to Boca Catalina because there was hardly anyone on this little beach and it was lovely for snorkelling. Easy entry with lots of rocks close by the shore for kids to feel safe and see lots of fish. This is also a spot where the boat tours go - so if you... More
