Small but nice museum with an interesting collection of memorabilia. Gives an interesting insight into Kuwait's maritime and fishing history, with some nice historic photos. In the yard there are three nice traditional ships. Just 50 meters away is the Modern Art Museum (which was unfortunately close when I visited the place). If you are using taxi, ask for the... More

The sight with the dows is of interest but if you have seen them somewhere else (old Dubai port has more to show as there you can see how they will be loaded and that is impressive at times) but the aquarium is cery nice to walk through and reasonably priced. It gives you a good idea of what you... More

This is a chance to see and understand exactly what kind of effort and ingenuity it took to sail with a load of goods and trade. They followed trade winds across the Indian Ocean, picking up loads and selling and moving on then return when the winds shifted -- spending nights alone in the vast reaches of the Indian Ocean... The Museum seemed to have been built in a old house, it was very small and really not much to see. We laughed about some of the artifacts that were on display! Not worth the money and it didn't cost much!

This museum is really nicely organized and stocked. And surprisingly... free. Follow the red line to learn all about Kuwait's history. Great photos, museum artifacts and a load of incredible ship models. Was bleak I couldn't use a camera in the museum. Free admission to the museum. I really enjoyed the museum as it guide you through on how Kuwait... More

This museum is really nicely organized and stocked. And surprisingly... free. Follow the red line to learn all about Kuwait's history. Great photos, museum artifacts and a load of incredible ship models. Was bleak I couldn't use a camera in the museum. The Kuwaitis are really proud of their shipping history, and rightly so. Pearl diving artifacts & information too.... More

Free admission to the museum. I really enjoyed the museum as it guide you through on how Kuwait started as a marine nation from fishermen, pear divers, to marine traders. You can find description both in English and Arabic.

Most of Kuwait's history is based around the sea, so it makes sense that this museum would cover a lot of aspects of Kuwait history... So, it's worth seeing even if you normally have no interest in Maritime museums (like me!). It's a small place, just 2 floors but it seems to have been updated recently and was very quiet.... More

It's one of the museums updated by NCCAL, this one gives visitors a glimpse of the past with pictures and actual artifacts used during the early years of Pearl diving and fishing in Kuwait. I wish these museums came with a guide who could show us around, we were left to walk around alone, maybe that was just a slow... More
