We stayed in a cabin on the property and loved it! It was so quaint, comfortable and relaxing. There is no TV in the cabin but we got a DVD at a close by store and watched it in bed on our computer. Movie night in this incredible place...what a great date night! So peaceful, too! We got there in... More

Although the weather was chilly and skies were overcast, it was wonderful to meet all of the rescued animal residents. Staff and volunteers were very knowledgeable and helpful. Seeing the turkeys enjoy their feast and the small children feeding them was quite a treat. A very memorable visit and I look forward to returning.

My husband and I come twice a year to farm sanctuary and we adore it. If you love animals like we do the experience is priceless!! Being able to interact with the animals is amazing and the guides are extremely knowledgeable. The scenery surrounding the sanctuary also is beautiful. They have cabins that you can stay in which we hope... More

I love animals and decided to visit the Sanctuary since I was in Watkins Glen. While waiting for the tour to start with another couple, a bus load of campers were dropped off to join our tour which was ok if they behaved. We watched the 10 minute film and it made you think about the foods we're eating. As... More

Great sanctuary. Beautiful grounds and animals are well cared for. Make sure you check tour days/time availability sometimes they change. Tour guides are friendly.

Looking for an educational afternoon on our recent trip to Watkins Glen for the NASCAR race, we decided to visit Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen. At a glance the place is clean, colorful rolling hills and animals appear to be well taken care of. The "pre-tour" movie and tour itself (which we were told is required) was harsh for children.... The Farm Sanctuary rescues farm animals from instances of abuse and has, as its mission the education of humans on the practices of factory farming and how the animals are treated. They make their point without being preachy . First a short 10 minute film is shown prior to the start of the tour and your tour guide will warn... More

We stayed in downtown Watkins Glen and read the Farm Sanctuary pamphlet which said don't follow GPS. Apparently it would take you down some side roads which might not be the best. We followed the instructions on the pamphlet which were spot on and found that our Tom Tom used the same ones. The drive out was very nice and... More

You may get a little lost finding the farm unless you have GPS, but once you are there it is idyllic. I would reserve about 2 hours at the farm if you want to wander it at your own pace. There is a big visitor center with loads of information about what they are all about and a gift store... More

Farm Sanctuary was amazing! My husband and I went to get away from Manhattan for the weekend and it was beautiful. The farm is gorgeous and they allow you to interact with all of the animals. It really opens your eyes up to seeing how farm animals are sentient beings. I highly recommend visiting, especially if you have children; it's... More
