Very nice looking on the outside, but the tour would probably take like 5 minutes because there is very little to see....

When we visited in Nov 2015, this was a work in progress with little to see (hence the 'poor' rating). The building itself is beautiful and with some effort, this could be another badly-needed attraction for Stone Town. Staff we met there were friendly and committed to better days ahead.

On one of the many strolls discovering stone town we passed by the peace museum. The building is beautiful and we enjoyed our time in there. It is not a massive museum, just a simple hall. There are only a few pictures and stories displayed. But it still gave some interesting insights, relating to historical facts and stories that we... More

The Peace Memorial Museum is a lovely white building in Stone Town. A nice museum to visit. Beautiful grounds and a well maintained piece of history.

The building itself is very beautiful. I paid the entrance fee (1500 shilling) to get inside. The place is almost empty. There is some old photos around the walls and that's pretty much it. It's worth pay the entrance fee to get inside and see the building from the inside. It gets low rate because the museum itself is terrible.

We didn't know what to expect. The next door museum of natural history is tiny...........and closed. So it was a surprise to find the peace museum open. And a surprise that 95% of the display is about Emily Ruette, born a princess in Zanzibar in 1844. An amazing woman. Apart from that, just a few old photos of Zanzibar and... More

This is an architecturally impressive building which was meant to commemorate Peace. Unfortunately, the interior is not really kept up. When we were there, there was an exhibit about the life of a well-known Zanzibaran princess. The exhibit was repetitive and not impressive in any way. The gov't really should put more focus on this supposed attraction.
