On our first night in Stone Town, my boyfriend and I were woken up in the early morning to very loud bells and drums that were consistently going off for a good five minutes. Finding a Hindu Temple in the narrow streets of Stone Town is no easy feat. However. the Shakti Temple is worth a visit as there are so few of them in Zanzibar and this one is quite a well run peaceful place. Recommended!

One of the hardest places to find in Stone Town. If you look for this temple it's located on Hurumzi Street in town. From there you have to find the correct alleyway and turn left. If you see a closed door with Hindu-signs on, congratulations you found it. The temple is quite small and I was the only person there.... More

Well maintained temple hidden in the alleyways of stone town. A bit of mission to find, but well worth it. Its near Emerson Green hotel.

If you manage to find your way through the maze of Stone Town,love colourful kitsch and have half an hour to spare, this indian temple is well worth a visit.
