A Indian temple to visit and feel a bit of peace. You have many idols and it is your faith and belief that makes your visit worth it or not! For me it was good to see and visit something having seen in India.

Quite peaceful, this small temple in the narrow street of Zanzibar shows the influences of Indians being blessed to worship in the great land.

This Hindu place of worship is located in the heart of Stone Town. There are regular Aartis and Prayers and free food served.

Given the huge influence of Indians in Zanzibar, I'd expect a lot more temples, but anyway, this is an average temple. It can be definitely skipped unless (1) you have never seen an Hindu temple before, or (2) you need to pray... More

On our first night in Stone Town, my boyfriend and I were woken up in the early morning to very loud bells and drums that were consistently going off for a good five minutes. We soon realized that just next door to our guesthouse was a Hindu Temple. We managed to find the easy-to-miss entrance, and were pleasantly surprised by... More

Finding a Hindu Temple in the narrow streets of Stone Town is no easy feat. However. the Shakti Temple is worth a visit as there are so few of them in Zanzibar and this one is quite a well run peaceful place. Recommended!

One of the hardest places to find in Stone Town. If you look for this temple it's located on Hurumzi Street in town. From there you have to find the correct alleyway and turn left. If you see a closed door with Hindu-signs on, congratulations you found it. The temple is quite small and I was the only person there.... More

Well maintained temple hidden in the alleyways of stone town. A bit of mission to find, but well worth it. Its near Emerson Green hotel.
