Forodhani Park is a very pleasant place for a stroll during the day and to get a much-needed cold drink. Also great for people watching. At night is comes alive with a market selling all manner of food. More

There is a lovely place to get coffee and snacks just next to the front with chairs and umbrellas. At night there is a huge open air market selling fresh food at amazingly cheap prices. Contrary to what some guides say this is not Zanzibars answer to Djemma el fna...however its pleasant enough, however a couple of caveats; the fish kebabs were certainly not fresh and I would advise eating from stalls where where the locals eat.
