Looking for value gifts, souvenirs, local clothings in Mauritius. A visit to Grand Baie Bazar (between beach and Super U Mall) is MUST. About 50 -60 small shops within Bazar and many along the lane, just outside would meet all your requirements. Try good bargaining, though. You will get variety, quality at your price. Market open till Lunch on Sunday... More

Loved to be amongst the hustle and bustle but nice to be away from all that in our hotel. Super U Shopping Mall was nice to look around. There were plenty of eateries there.

I went twice and we had a great time shopping and the people are very friendly. We had the best cocktails at the market

I didn't like the bazaar there is a big man that gets called over to bully one into buying whatever one shows even the slightest interest in.Its offensive and unpleasant. The shops in the road outside the bazaar have friendly staff and wonderful things to purchase. Don't go to the bazaar it was an awful experience

There where about 120 Stalls in total with just about everything you would like or need, its very crammed but well worth the experience in our opinion. Only takes a few hours to walk round max and there is a cafe right outside the bazaar if you need a rest. There are also banks, cash points and money changers just... More

The Bazaar although colourful and worth a visit is unexciting with many stalls all pressure selling the same products. Our major disappointment and concern was finding a caged monkey at the back of the bazaar [ near to stall no 133. , alone in a cage without shade or comfort and on enquiry discovered that it had been there for... Lots of shops, friendly people. Service in the stores were very good. Huge variety. I loved the shopping trip to Grand Baie Bazaar.

If you are a budget shopper, this is the one place you must visit. Bargain, bargain and then bargain some more, from textiles to souvenirs you are guaranteed to find something at unbeatable prices (if you can bargain politely that is).

At Mauritius, there are not too many places for shopping. There is not much to shop infact in entire Mauritius expect for souvenirs. If you want to visit an average mall, a supermarket, and an ATM Grand Baie is the place. Grand Baie is a place where you can go shopping for your daily needs (water, chips etc) if you... More

Too many of the stalls have the same items, use your bargaining skills to get the best deals. Some locals can be loud and force a sale, use your discretion and say no if need be.
