Hi, Vernon Downs is not Vegas, a fancy resort, the Caribbean nor a place for "big spenders" It is a place to relax, have a decent meal, enjoy the pool and do a "little" gambling at the slot machines and spend time at the track. They give you a nice break from your work schedule. Understand this is not a... More

large but not huge, café food was good and reasonable. Staff at guest services weren't quite as friendly as other places I've visited

This is a low-end casino at a harness racetrack. A little run down. My biggest complaint is they keep sending me offers (Clambake, July 4th picnic, etc.) however when I call to confirm, they are ALWAYS booked. I've called to confirm these offers the second the offer hits my mailbox, and they are ALWAYS booked. Why bother to send them.... More

We stopped for lunch at the casino and had a very nice and plentiful buffet (with a senior discount) over-looking the race track where the horses were being exercised. A lovely, sunny day and a beautiful view.

I make it a point to stop in at this casino every time I am in the area. They are so much more player friendly then the larger casinos are. I eat often in Champions buffet and the food is always good.

Vernon Racino is a small casino with a great group of drink servers and fun bands right next to the floor of Friday and Saturday nights. Because its a Racino payouts are a little lower but you can get lucky and it is a friendly place. If I were to improve things I would have the match the drink specials... More

Sure, you can go down the road to the other casino, with its fancy-pants pretentiousness, if that's what you like. But if you just want to have fun without the glitz and glitter, Vernon Downs is the place to be. And the Champions Buffet is an amazing bargain, with excellent food. I'm glad I don't live closer, because I would... More

!st time here and only went because of proximity to main destination; Turning Stone. Had heard of before but never planned on visiting because of distance from home (3 hrs.) and not much love for racinos. Were at Turning Stone for a 2 night stay and, not having much luck, figured we'd give it a try. Went for lunch buffet,... More

My wife and I went to Vernon Downs Casino ironically after our stay at nearby Turning Stone. To be honest we were very disappointed with Turning Stone's casino so decided to try our luck at the much smaller "slot" casino. Being that we live in the Southern Tier of NY I've been to their sister casino, Tioga Downs, many times.... More
