This was a very nice adventure for the whole family. Our group included my daughter, her fiance and my 5-year-old grandson along with myself, of course. We decided to do the coach 4:30 train as we figured it would be better for the grandson. We live an hour from the station and didn't think the later first class train would... More

Cocoa Class IS worth the extra money!! I went with my two daughters, my parents and a friend with her son. The train station is decorated and there are many things to do while waiting for the train; snowball fights, coloring and the elves entertaining people.. Also, the tickets look JUST like the ones from the movie. Then, once aboard(first... More

I can't say I wouldn't have enjoyed the coach cars. I'm sure the attraction is the trip. The kids had a great time just being on a train. I'm just glad for the little extras that come in Cocoa Class. The cars were clean. The elves were friendly. The mugs and bells were quality items and didn't feel cheap. As... More

Excellent polar express trip! The kids loved it as did the adults. Well worth the drive up to Utica. Nice train station but a little creepy at night with wandering people but stay together and enjoy the scenic railroad

I can't say enough good things about our train ride. We took the polar express ride last weekend. The station was beautiful and holiday decorated. Everyone was friendly and the elves were incredible. So sweet and were perfect for the part. The train ride was smooth and so much fun. I want to take another trip with the RR in... More

Courtesy and comraderie are part of the delight of the 2 hour train trip up to Old Forge, NY. You choose your seats, all comfortable, walk to the "dining car" where you get take out provided by the all volunteer staff, even the train personnel in each car are very knowledgeable volunteers who just love this train and this trip.... My daughter and I decided to take the Fall Foliage train ride to Thendera with out the layover. It was a beautiful Sunday, October 11,2015 and the drive from Syracuse was quick and easy along the Thruway. When we arrived it was easy to find the station, get our tickets and get on the train. Obviously the train is older... More

We took the Adirondack Scenic Railroad on 10/24/15. I enjoyed the experience but the volunteers, leave a lot to be desired. We unfortunately sat in the "coach" car on the way to Thendara. It was cold and the windows were scratched making them difficult to see through. Our train car volunteer (#1) quickly established her favorites and we were basically... More

We booked an early October scenic foliage trip from Utica to Thendara with no layover which was a total round trip time of about 5 hours. The Adirondack Scenic Train office is in a corner of the restored Utica Union station with a short walk to the loading platform--an elevator is available to assist those with walking concerns. The 1950's... More
