Don't expect any touristy catches here. This place is all about living history. If you want to tour an extensive museum and some beautiful grounds, you will enjoy the fort. If you are looking for lots of entertainment for the children, then you will be disappointed. There are some period appropriate activities for the young people, but not a full... More

This is real history. Even if you have little or no interest in history this is worth a visit. It brings the period to life and allows everyone to understand and important part of the foundation of our country. This Fort represents an incredible story that is worth repeating over and over. I stop back at the fort every few... More

This is a great place to take the kids to have breakfast and see Fort Tigonderoga. They sometimes have play acting and there is a lot to be learned. The Fort is nestled between Lake George and Lake Champlain. Be sure to vist Mount Defiance which is close by for a spectacular view and great photo ops. More

It was just OK for me. Not big on seeing forts and the war memoribilia. I would have enjoyed it more if you could see how the soldiers actually lived - where they slept, where they ate, kept prisoners, etc. Didn't see anything like. There was some story telling people dressed in period clothing. More

Our morning at Fort Ticonderoga was well spent. We thoroughly enjoyed the meticulously renovated stone fort, docent tours, and the art collection on the property. This site was restored by a private source, the Pell family, and their summer house next door was also on display. The history of this fort is nothing short of amazing. More

Through this entrance to the place D'Armes of the fort have passed....George Washington, Ethan Allen, Benjamin Franklin, Benedict Arnold, Horatio Gates, Sir John Burgoyne...and a host of other great men of our history. You who tread in their footsteps remember their glory. Fort Ticonderoga is a majestically restored stone fort with beautiful views in all directions. My 7th great-grandfather served... More

We visited during a reenactment weekend, which was very interesting. There were no guided tours on that day, so we would like to come back at some point. The reenactment very well done. Shuttle buses take you on a ride from the parking lot. Dogs are allowed outside the fort, just not inside. We found it very interesting to see... More

We could have spent a day or only three hours here. The Fort is owned and run by a foundation. There were interactive or lead activities available throughout the day as well as demostrations. We especially enjoyed the fife and drum demos. The fife and drum corps led us down the hill to the King's Garden for a guided tour.... More
