This zoo has potential. I believe if visitors speak up for the animals, we could possibly affect a change. On my visit of June 7, the majority of the mammals I saw were pacing in their enclosures. Pacing and other stereotypic behavior are not normal! They are thought to be brought on by the stress of lack of space, boredom,... more

We live about 100 miles from this zoo so we can't visit as much as we would like, but it is one of our all time favorites. Our family of 4 just went again in May 2009 after a 4 year absence and were not disappointed. Much to our surprise, a huge penquin tank and exhibit had recently been completed.... more

The Rosamond Gifford Zoo is a great place to take your kids. The price is right and they have a wonderful gift shop. There is an on site restaurant, very family friendly. The animals' exhibits are clean and well set up. It's a pleasant and easy way to spend an afternoon. This zoo has one of the most successful elephant... more
