My husband and I went to check it out and it was entertaining, just not very large. There were lots of moms and toddlers and school children on field trips which is great to see education in progress! There were several exhibits closed down for various reasons, and that is understandable. The animals were lovely and the care used for... More

I went with my class to visit the zoo! It is such a wonderful place to visit with a group of kids. The zoo is clean, the animals are very well taken care of!! Love this zoo!

Animals look well cared for and everything is in good shape. I went on a sunny day and we spent hours wandering around, taking photos, and enjoying the exhibits.

I've been going to this Zoo since I was a kid. They've added & updated a few things but not much has changed. Always a good time!!

I grew up outside of Syracuse and this was the zoo we visited when I was a girl. I remember particularly the primate house with such sad concrete cages with isolated animals. I also remember the interesting grounds with stone walls and paths leading off to nowhere. Things are so much better for the animals now! I took my granddaughter... More

We are long-time members and visit regularly, which enables us to experience a lot of things that one-time visitors might miss. The aviary is a fantastic place to stay a while and watch the personalities of the birds emerge (yes, it smells funny when you enter, but it's less noticeable the longer you stay, and staff in there will give... Great zoo. Don't miss the elephants! Lots of stuff for kids, and well worth the trip. Great for walking year round, the walkway is half a mile. This is a very responsible zoo and the animals are well cared for.

I love the zoo even though I'm in favor of wildlife staying wild. It is a great place for children to learn about the animals and to appreciate the animals in a somewhat natural envirnment. Also free parking which is a plus.

Rosamond Gifford Zoo isn't nearly as large as say, the National Zoo in Washington DC or the zoos in Dallas and Fort Worth (all of which I've visited) but it is definitely well worth it, especially among zoos in this region. There is a good variety of animals on display -- lions, snow leopards, elephants, birds of all sizes, primates... More
