A Variety of natural exhibits makes this a very good zoo for a city the size of Syracuse. The collection is smaller than the large zoos in NY and Philadelphia, however much better than zoos in larger cities like Buffalo and Rochester. Tigers, Lions, a new Penguin exhibit and a medium sized herd of breeding elephants make it a worthwhile... More

This zoo always has an event or special program. It is clean in the animal areas and people areas. The animals seem content and well cared for. You could spend 1/2 or all day here. There is a very good variety of animals and birds, something for everyone. They even have an agouti, markhor, fossa and kookaburra! Bring a journal... More

You can spend all morning and afternoon at the zoo. First visit the buildings to see the birds, smaller animals and the separate primate building. Then take the family for a stroll along the pond to see local water birds, a variety of animals in their habitat, and the barn with lamas, mules and other farm animals and circle back... More

They have invested a lot of time & money, and I am sure a lot of love & pride. The elephant's finally have room to wander & the lion's have room to roam. Certainly an above average zoo for a city the size of Syracuse.

Been coming here since I was young. It's my favorite zoo.. However the elephants are sometimes hard to view now and that's the main reason I come. Always seem to be well kept up.

We went to the zoo Dec 26 and it was a great day. The weather was sunny and the animals were enjoying it. The young red Pandas were out and chasing each other. The Tigers were sunning them self and I was enjoying the walk. I was surprised to see the zoo had only a few visitors. The food counter... More

Not being a fan of zoos I would rate this zoo average good for small children with average admission price. It also includes a food court, and a gift shop.

Its a zoo and a decent one. I find the enclosures a bit too small for my taste and would like more interactive stuff for the kids but all in all, its a great thing to do in Syracuse. Worth your time, I think.

I have come here with my boyfriend for the past two summers and it is always a nice way to spend the day together. Make sure to dress appropriately, especially on a hot day! It is also a great place for the family to go and spend the day. They do offer food (fries, hot dogs, burgers, drinks).
