Skaneateles is the first of the Finger Lakes and a great resort area near Syracuse, NY. The lake is spring fed, so cold! It is very clear and is the supply of drinking water for Syracuse. Make time to enjoy the lake from the dinner cruise which circles the lake and serves a good meal. Don't forget your camera!

It's a beauty of a lake! Take a cruise on the lake for more scenic views. A bit cold for swimming in it, but great for boating and just looking at!

Great place to spend some time walking near the lake, shopping ( some unique shops), and grabbing a bite.

What a beautiful lake in western NY. We were lucky enough to get out on the water for a day and experience the whole lake north to south. Cliffs on the east side are amazing as well as the little lake camps that dot the landscape. So much to see, well worth the stop

Nice to walk or sit by this lake right with beautiful views. Next to great shops and restaurants. A great day trip a half hour outside of Syracuse.

Summer probably best at this cleanest lake in the country. Great places around the lake to eat and drink. Fun shops, small private owned businesses.

This was our third trip down to the Charles Dickens Festival in Skaneateles, and it was another fun and magical experience. The lake itself is so beautiful, even in winter, and the entire town turns out for this reenactment of an 1800s English weekend. There is so much to see and do, shopping through the quaint little stores where even... More
