The park is beautiful, its fire island so it has great surf and sand. the only downfall is the neighborhood it is located in. the atmosphere can sometimes be ghetto and trailer park, its not race but class. If you go to the west side of the beach near the nature walk you can avoid that atmosphere. The nature walk... more

Oh my god! We camped here & it was absolutely horrific! To get to the beach where the lifeguards are you must walk a bit & that's usually no big deal for us, however, there were mosquitos swarming around us on the walk & I am not joking when I say that myself & my children have about 100 bites... more

Beining a long timer out here in Shirley 2 miles from the beach. I walk @ 4 wheel there year round. Today while my walk I was lucky to have seen a seal pup suning it'sself on the sand . What a sight. Everyday is a beautiful day at Smith Point Park more
