We go to this beach every time we visit family. This is a great little beach in an unbelievable location. Just minutes off the highway, you basking in the sun with a cool one in you hand from the Beach Hut. The live entertainment all afternoon and evening can't be beat. If you can't afford a ticket to paradise, just... More

The beach is very clean. Since hurricane sandy the shoreline is closer. The beach was cleaned up and sand was added. They did a great job of revitalizing the beach.

Wow the beach has changed over the years but one thing has always remained the same is just how clean and nice it is. It is never over crowded and is just a great place to bring the family or go take a nice walk on the shore.

We got to visit this beach at the end of the season this time, but in general Smith Point beach has been less crowded than public beaches at Robert Moses State or the Hamptons. Just as clean and beautiful as the other beaches listed, if you love the almost rock-free sugar-sand of the Caribbeans but with a bit colder water.

I have always preferred this beach to any other. It is clean and has a great view. I love to come in the morning and I always pack a lunch. The concession stand is a bit expensive. The waves are rather big! The parking fee is $15 On Friday and Saturday nights there is live music on the boardwalk. The... More

Any day this is a great place to walk, and gather your thoughts ! If you are lucky go to the north of the camp sites with binoculars and when the weather is cold you may see some seals. Watch the weather and dress for it

Its great during the summer but like any other beach on Long Island its very busy. I would suggest going in the later months, Fall season. Its a nice walk on the beach.

Price is great for camping and the beach is only a 5 minute walk away. I've been to several Suffolk county parks and this one is by far the dirtiest. The bathroom are absolutely disgusting that you are better off going outside. It seems that they never get cleaned. The "tent only" sites are pretty small and the security is... More

Smith's Point campground is a beautiful place to stay. It's 90% of the hither hills experience with exception that it is generally easier to get a reservation at this campground because it is a county campground. It differs from Hither Hills in that the campsites are more sandy than grassy and the camping is above the dunes rather than behind... More

Smiths Point is as good as it gets. Whether you walk or drive onto the beach, you will find some of the best sand on the island. Sandy has left the beach in bad shape for this upcomming sun season - hopefully they will rebuild in time.
