The incident is chronicled in online videos, pictures, news stories and email accounts. It's a truly humble testament to remembering the ill-fated airline travelers crossing the Atlantic for all different reasons. Most impressive is the international array of citizen-represented flags with the ocean waves heard in the background.

Give me your hand. Smith point county park always makes me sing. A beautiful long island south shore beach can't be beat.

Smith Point Beach is amazing!!! Every year I purchase a parking pass and I am there quite often. The beach is beautiful. There is not a long walk from the parking lot to the sand. The lifeguards do an outstanding job protecting everyone. In addition to the ocean, The Beach Hut sells food, drink and spirits. The Mudslides are to... More

Great beach and boardwalk with facilities for summer fun for all ages. Great night spot for everyone to enjoy with live music and good food at reasonable prices. Free parking for seniors during the week and $5 per car with the pass.

We go to this beach every time we visit family. This is a great little beach in an unbelievable location. Just minutes off the highway, you basking in the sun with a cool one in you hand from the Beach Hut. The live entertainment all afternoon and evening can't be beat. If you can't afford a ticket to paradise, just... More

The beach is very clean. Since hurricane sandy the shoreline is closer. The beach was cleaned up and sand was added. They did a great job of revitalizing the beach.

Wow the beach has changed over the years but one thing has always remained the same is just how clean and nice it is. It is never over crowded and is just a great place to bring the family or go take a nice walk on the shore.

We got to visit this beach at the end of the season this time, but in general Smith Point beach has been less crowded than public beaches at Robert Moses State or the Hamptons. Just as clean and beautiful as the other beaches listed, if you love the almost rock-free sugar-sand of the Caribbeans but with a bit colder water.

I have always preferred this beach to any other. It is clean and has a great view. I love to come in the morning and I always pack a lunch. The concession stand is a bit expensive. The waves are rather big! The parking fee is $15 On Friday and Saturday nights there is live music on the boardwalk. The... More

Any day this is a great place to walk, and gather your thoughts ! If you are lucky go to the north of the camp sites with binoculars and when the weather is cold you may see some seals. Watch the weather and dress for it
