The entire place is beautiful. Small enough for a quick visit but there is enough beauty to relax and spend an afternoon. Water features, rose gardens and a beautiful mansion on a green, grassy hill for you to take in. Worth the stop whether you have half an hour or longer to spend.

This is an artist's retreat, with the gardens open to the public. With Roman Style Gardens and Fountains, it is truly a special place. Been visiting the Gardens since I was a child, the drive in always seemed creepy with the ponds. Not so much as an adult. Anyhow, it's free and beautiful, especially when the roses are in bloom!

The mansion at Yaddo is now a writer/artist retreat. The incredible rose gardens and Italian rock garden is open to the public. The number of weddings that have taken place here in the summer numbers in the thousands. The grounds are meticulously maintained and a great place for a summer picnic. It is a place with an incredible history that... More

Yaddo is a free garden open to the public. The grounds are very well kept by members of the community. I highly recommend going there in the late spring when the roses are coming into bloom. It is breathtaking and this is primarily what Yaddo is known for. It is a very tranquil place and many go there to read... More

Ok, so fall is not the ideal time to go. The roses are spent, the recent work, muddy. But, it was still beautiful and relaxing to walk around and see what peoples hands have done in a garden. I caught a peek at one of the resident artists in her beret. Loved the rock garden. I looked beyond the death... More
