I went because of the reviews, and it was a really fun trip. We went in the middle of July, so we missed the bloom which was a bit of a let down. They also seemed to be doing a lot of maintenance on the grounds, but overall it was still fun. The best part, on the way out, we... More

This is a beautiful garden - mostly roses - but tucked into the back of the grounds is what they call a rock garden. It is populated with many wildflowers and ferns set in a wood that provides shade and sun for the many understory plants that prefer milder light. We visited in early June, when most of the roses... I've lived in the area 35+ years and want to come each summer, but never found the time to visit the gardens before. It's gorgeous! Beautiful area to walk around - with the statues and scenery, it's like taking a step back in time. It's also the sort of place meditators go in their minds' eyes. VERY peaceful, very historic... Yaddo Gardens is wonderful! Gorgeous flowers, beautiful fountain, just simply amazing all around. I had the pleasure of taking maternity photos there and I know of many people who take wedding photos there as well. It could be a beautiful backdrop for any photo or simply a quiet place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Beautiful estate located next to the Race course. Inspired many artistic treasures....including the poetic verses of Edgar Alan Poe! Only the gardens are open to the public.

Coming in at the start of fall we werent expecting much, but it was perfect! I can only imagine how wonderful it is during the summer when the roses are in full bloom. Its a good size where you can spend a little while, but not huge where it cant remain well maintained.

I went one afternoon with my dog for a nice stroll through Yaddo and it was just perfect. Although it's small - it's well attended with people having engagement photos taken, etc. I enjoyed sitting and taking it all in - then my dog reminded me she was there and we continued our walk. Enjoy!
