I visited the harness races on the recommendation of a local as a must do when visiting. The "real" races only happen for about six weeks in summer but this was fun too. The.jockey's ride in carts, but you can still make a bet and have beers and pretzels. We didn't win but it sure was fun!

We love going to the Race Track. It's cheap to get into just the basic area. Go early and bring your lawn chairs and a blanket and let the kids play. It's great when it's a beautiful day outside. You can bring in a cooler with anything you'd like except for glass. beer, wine, liquor all fine if it's not... More

I have lived in the capital district/Adirondack area all of my life. I usually visit the race track once per year. My visit is driven by the people I go with and the people that I see there. I am not much of a horse race gambler and plan to loose about $150 betting. Toss in another $10 bucks for... More

The "Flat-track, open late July to early September, is the oldest and, possibly equaled by Churchill Downs in Kentucky, the most famous Thoroughbred racetrack in the USA. History surrounds you everywhere. The excitement level is consistently high, the anticipation exquisite! There's a huge variety of great foods and drink, albeit at premium prices but, generally, of high quality. People from... More

This is a gorgeous track preserved, as much as possible in the day & age, in the old school. The seat seats are old and slightly uncomfortable, there is a carnival atmosphere around the track as you enter but the horse racing is pure.

With the seasonal advance seat purchase and the 1st Sat of May Passing/ it's time to dream of toga! The difference this is no Durkin! However NYRA did a good thing(you can't say that many times ) and hired Larry Colmus- . But in less than 90 days they will be off at Saratoga- see you there!!

This is a wonderful horse racing experience and a great day out for anyone. It's fun to place dollar bets, there is lots to eat and drink, and the atmosphere is peaceful but exciting. Recommend!

My wife visit here every August with 3-4 other couples. The history and beauty of the place, not to mention the world class racing make this one of our favorite trips every year. Whether you are enjoying a picnic on the lawn or taking in the scene in the Turf Terrace, you will have a day to remember.
