They have amazing tourist center with very helpful staff. Centre offers many cozy galleries (I bought beutiful photograph of a local artist at Exhibition opening in NorthWind... More

This town is my home away from home, my roots, the place where I used to try to flee camping on Lower Saranac, in order to spend my birthday money and meet boys who were also doing the same thing. Now it's just my happy place, where I can touch the water, smell the pines, and remember the good old... More

This little Village is a well kept secret in the Adirondacks & one that should not be overlooked. Lots of fine restaurants & unique shopping haunts, including antiques & more. Also a lot of history with the unique well restored Cure Cottages from the TB era. The air is fresh & clean & the people warm & friendly & they... More

I was antiquing with a friend when we encountered Cassidy's Antiques and decided to go in. My friend asked to see something, and agreed to buy it at the owner's stated price, She then asked to see something else, and when told the price of that item, she said no. The owner apparently took umbrage at this--why, I cannot imagine--and... More

The Adirondacks are beautiful and Saranac Lake is a lot of fun. If you are in the area, you must do a paddle, take a hike, and eat Donnelly's ice cream.

There is so much more than just the town of Saranac Lake to see. You should stay for a few days at least. Canoe or kayak around. Rent a cabin on any of the various lakes that are all connected. Watch the wild life. And most important: DON'T CHECK YOUR EMAIL!

There is a new attraction that goes between Saranac Lake and Lake Clear NY. It is best described as a rail bike. You ride the rails between the 2 towns. Great fun and good exercise. Take about 1-2 hours. Beautiful scenery along the rail tracks. www.railexplorer.net
