This is the most family friendly ski resort I've ever been too. It's cozy but with good facilities. Ski rental and ski school are very good. Don't miss the upstairs grill in the lodge for some really great eats. Best part is that the kids won't get lost in a big crowd, the lines aren't long and everyone who works... More

Plattekill in the winter is a great family ski area..with kids skiing free...no lines even on holidays. Also, they have tubing on the weekend - lots of fun. Lastly, in Spring, Summer, Fall - this is one of the best mountain biking resorts for the enthusiast.

I LOVE this mountain. It's small and intimate, the terrain is challenging and there's a great bar in the lodge. On the downside if the snow isn't great it can be icy mess and they're unable to open all the trails. This winter because of the great snowfall they were able to open many trails I'd never skied on before.... More

If you want "old school" charm - this is the place to go. It is remote but once you get there it's like going back in time. The staff is friendly, food prices are really reasonable and the mountain is great! Went on Liftopia and got a Saturday lift ticket for $36 - a real bargain for the quality of... More

I'm a novice skier from Philadelphia...however, my partner LOVES skiing and has spent many years skiing in Colorado. Last year we found this wonderful ski resort in the Catskills, Plattekill Mountain, that she says reminds her of trails in Colorado, which wind around the mountain and take a while before finally reaching the bottom. Because she loves skiing so much,... More

We visited this mountain on George Washington's Weekend. It was somewhat hard to find since it is so far off the beaten path. There could have been more signage to let us know we were still on the right path. Once there, it reminded me of ski areas I visited when I was a child - very quaint. There were... More

As a first time skier I was nervous to learn at a smaller resort since they aren't known to have too many beginner trails, but Plattekill was great! My boyfriend (an avid skier) and I went on a holiday weekend and the place was practically empty, which meant easy parking and no wait for rentals or the lift. Although there... More

Plattekill is a nice mountain to ski---off the beaten path in your "backyard". Easy to get to and not crowded at all. We have been there several times and never have to wait in lift lines. The terrain is great and lots of diversity. Staff are friendly and talkative. Great place for family skiing. And lunch upstairs in the bar... More
