We visited this mountain on George Washington's Weekend. It was somewhat hard to find since it is so far off the beaten path. There could have been more signage to let us know we were still on the right path. Once there, it reminded me of ski areas I visited when I was a child - very quaint. There were... More

As a first time skier I was nervous to learn at a smaller resort since they aren't known to have too many beginner trails, but Plattekill was great! My boyfriend (an avid skier) and I went on a holiday weekend and the place was practically empty, which meant easy parking and no wait for rentals or the lift. Although there... More

Plattekill is a nice mountain to ski---off the beaten path in your "backyard". Easy to get to and not crowded at all. We have been there several times and never have to wait in lift lines. The terrain is great and lots of diversity. Staff are friendly and talkative. Great place for family skiing. And lunch upstairs in the bar... More

Awesome place when the conditions are good. Totally caught in a time warp but that's one of it's main qualities. This is a skiers mountain and offers great expert terrain as well as something for everybody. I still visit occasionally but have backed off over recent years after the owner launched an attack on Belleayre Mountain. Never bite the hands... More

My partner skied and i went tubing--the tubing was really fun! It wasn't mobbed like at some ski resorts. The lodge was fun with a bar upstairs. Beautiful mountain...

At first things seemed fine. The employees were nice and overall we were excited to get started. My husband went down one of the harder trails and he fell, once he had gotten to the bottom of the hill we had noticed that he had lost his lift ticket (they were printed on poor paper). We went back to the... More

Ski here with the locals when Windham or Hunter are too crowded. Also much cheaper here, especially if you get a deal or use liftopia.com Not a huge mountain but fun for a day!

I have great memoriesabout thisplace from College. Smooching on the T-Bar was memorable. Skiing there has always been good, but snowcover can be spotty. The steepest trail has a 1,000 foot vertical - perhaps the most in the East? Not sure but it is still a blast!

Came here after skiing at Belleayre during the day to try the night snow tubing. Sooo much fun! Wish we'd have gone earlier, so we could have gotten more runs. Mind you, we are all a bunch of 25 year olds, and this is definitely for all ages

We've been skiing at Plattekill for years because the mountain is less crowded than other nearby areas. When you are teaching young children, I think it is important to give them space without worrying that they will be run over by out of control snow boarders. The lodge is rustic and quaint. On the weekends, live music is common.
