We spent two hours from 9 to 11 AM walking the extensive open fields and wooded trails viewing the many sculptures before the museum opened at 11. The exhibition of The Moderns from a private collection offers a unique opportunity to see these works by Degas, Renoir, Picasso, Miro, Dali and many more. We also enjoyed the collection of Bolshevik... More

If you have never been, it is a wonderful experience just even driving in. There is a large parking lot with a bit of a walk, but handicapped folks can go right to the front of the mansion. It is a cut way way above what you would expect to find in the burbs. There are about 4 different shows... More

This is a gem of a museum on the north shore. The grounds are kept so beautifully and the museum has a nice rotating collection of artwork. So glad they have a place like this on Long Island!

Formerly a Henry Frick Estate (same owner as Frick Museum in NYC), in Roslyn, NY. Great example of the Gold Coast Era Estate across from the old Helena Rubenstein Cosmetics Building. The Museum has a fabulous art collection and features a wide variety of Exhibitions during the year. You will find something for everyone to appreciate at one time or... More

Serene, peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding area. Both on the gorgeous grounds and inside the mansion museum. Wonderful collection of Tiffany paintings along with some lamps and glass. And a little bit of everything else incl modern, pop, posters, current, etc. Had an interesting collection of rarely seen Audubon Animals prints. (No birds). Favorite were... More

This small art museum is one of our special places to visit. They often have special exhibits which are unique. We took our 11 year old grandson there and he was captivated by the paintings. There is an outdoor sculpture garden which is a delight to wander through in the warm weather. A number of years ago they had a... More

The cold weather during our visit forced us to inside visits. We came upon the Nassau County Museum in a beautiful park setting. While the museum does have a small collection if Tiffany paintings, most of it is given over the special exhibits. An extensive Chinese exhibition was very well placed and annotated. Items from the Frick collection were rare... More

Nassau County Museum has some of the finest art exhibits in the World. The Chine Exhibit was beautiful and well persented. I must say, some years ago, they had a Fine Arts Competition that I won a First Prize, $500, Best in Show Award. It would be nice if they would reconsider having some Art Competitions in such a lovely... More

Not only did I enjoy the China exhibit, but I also had a great time walking around the building and strolling around. Formerly a private Gold Coast estate, the grounds are lovely, the sculptures are delightful and well placed just off garden paths, and the mansion itself a Georgian Colonial gem.

The outside grounds are great for a nice fall wall in the garden. The museum is kept up well, with many volunteers throughout.the museums gift store has some nice items. The exhibits rotate during the year.
