First time visit

Nice view from the walk bridge. I heard it lights up at night. Cool how the river is cut out from the water over the many years.

I do not recommend the waterfall to anyone. The water is so dirty that it is brown. The area is unsafe with lots of homeless people harassing you for money. I could not get out of there quick enough!

Business district of Rochester is built on the cliffs of the Genesee River as it flows through the city. This is unique to have a "high" falls in the city. The Ponce de Rennes Pedestrian Bridge provides great views of the High Falls & downtown Rochester.Worth the time to experience. Parking in the Browns Race area is limited.

I can't believe this is actually an atrraction! I am dissatisfied. The water was contaminated and dirty. There was garage all around and homeless people begging for change. The area is completely unsafe!

We enjoyed seeing both the falls and the surrounding area. Beautiful view when walking out over river to better view falls! Recommend a visit!

No ducks present, they flew away? One of the places to visit organized by the school is to visit the High Falls and steal the fresh air. It's not Niagara Falls my dear so quit comparing it with Niagara Falls! It's the High Falls, it's from Rochester! Ooooh, how nice to be in this area after a long walk from... More

Your best bet is to start on the west side (closer to State Street). Walk across the Pont de Rennes pedestrian bridge, then once across take the small/narrow (paved) trail to your right, walking toward the falls. The trail ends at a great overlook and lets you see the whole gorge and historic district. After you take in the view,... More

Great attraction and the Genesee Brew House is right there. They have awesome food and a view of the falls.

Evidently, the bridge where pedestrians and bicyclists can view the high falls is sometimes used for an event/catering space. (who knew?!) My husband & I had to come back on a different day because the bridge was closed when we first tried to view the falls an a weekday afternoon in July.
