Take the guided tour because it's not that expensive, I paid $3 admission and it's really informative. Although kids are welcome, it might be a little boring for the really young ones but even they might enjoy going into the tower. Nice view of the river & Lake Ontario. Free parking

Taking a step back in time and realizing how far back the shoreline in the Greater Rochester area used to come. This historical marker is located behind the Holy Cross Church with easy access during the summer months. Enjoy the scenery and the warm breeze!

Interesting history given during tour, opportunity to climb to the top and see the view, as well as chance to explore the gardens.

We were lucky enough to visit the lighthouse on a recent trip to Rochester. The hours are somewhat limited, especially in the fall, so it's best to check the website before going. We could not go up into the lighthouse itself because new railings are being installed on the staircase (we were told it would be done before summer 2015),... More

The top is missing from the top of the lighthouse! It's in the back yard. The gift shop was closed. The grounds were roped off so you could not get close to the lighthouse. Make sure you check to find out the condition prior to visiting else you might be sorely disappointed. Hwever, the beach, pier, and town are a... More

Nice walk with the wife after dinner. Weather started to turn and got back to the van before the down pour. Very impressive view as the storm approached with lightning and very heavy rain. Old ships were also docked at the pier.

This is a quick thing visit; you won't need much time. However, I highly recommend the visit. The lighthouse is beautiful. There are lots of other things you can do within walking distance.

This lighthouse is an artists dream. Historical and very well preserved. You can climb to the top to get a great view of the river and lake. It's a nice place to visit when you are looking for something to do that will not take much time.

I love lighthouses! Most I have seen are on the ocean. This short, stubby lighthouse is absolutely charming. And there is no salt water to wear these lake lighthouses down so quickly. The history of the area adds to the charm with the British, French and Native Americans having fought here over 200 years ago. The grounds are very well... More
