We live in Syracuse and took a day trip with our grandchildren aged 9 and 6 to the planetarium. The Strasenburgh website lists the suggested ages for their various shows and we selected " A Trip To Mars And Saturn ". Our grandchildren enjoyed the exhibits outside the theater until showtime and we took our seats. The narrator for the... More

Last weekend, we attended a wedding at the Planetarium. Before it started, they projected pictures of the bride and groom and their families at various ages on the ceiling. Then, after the procession, they gave a brief little Planetarium show. They didn't really connect it to love or weddings though, which they probably could have. I mean, you know, stars,... More

Great place to bring the kids and see a movie. You have to be careful where you sit because it can be a little awkward of an angle trying to watch depending on where you are. It can also be loud, so some kids might not like that. Free with your RMSC membership, so we have gone a lot.

The shows are mainly aimed at the younger audience but still fun & informative for adults too. There are a few hands on activities to 'play' with whilst you wait for your chosen show & there's information boards dotted about - there's more 'science' in the adjacent museum if you want it. Not all the shows are about space &... More

Took the kids to see the grand canyon movie at the planetarium. They loved it. Great site above you and the sound is great. Staff was awesome. We were running a lil behind but they had them wait for us to get in and seated before they started it. Definitely going again soon for another show.

We brought some out of town guests there for the first time in years. Most of the offerings were not star show/planetarium topics using their Zeiss projector. Instead we watched a nature show projected on their spherical screen, that was not particularly sharp or vivid. The exhibit area as one exited was sparse but hands-on and interesting.

A great place for all ages to view the stars and special programs that are very educational. The theate is set up so you can look up at the viewing screen comfotably.

This planetarium is very clean, offers a lot of free parking, boasts some nifty movies with state of the art special effects, but we felt that their adherence to the truth in advertising principle was grossly lacking. To be clear, so you don't make the same mistake we did, although the marquees poster over the entrance boasts, "Blast off with... More

One of the few original star projectors left. The star shows are great as are the the IMAX films. We have been members for the past 8 years.
