Unique dining and shopping experience in the heart of the city

If you want to see an older building that has been transformed into shops, artist workshops, offices, stores etc. this is the place to go. Lots of fun things to see and do here.

We love to go to the dark horse for coffee, they have the best breakfast burritos with home made salsa and they welcome our Lhasa Apso, Sable with open arms, they always have a treat ready for her!

Being close to the Memorial Art Gallery, you'd do well to grab lunch here before or after your visit seeing as the Gallery doesn't have a cafe at present. Gatehouse, Lento are high on my list, then Salena, which is less expensive. It's a cool vibe.

Never disappointing, Village Gate offers a vast array of venues and happenings to get anyone with any interest out of the house. Perfect weekend for the fair as the rain would not cease!

The Good; nice artsy place to hang out. The Bad; not for everyone, kinda NYCish so may not be for the country bumpkin. The Ugly; the freaks come out at night so you better like that sort of thing.

Group of five on a Thursday night. It was crowded but the staff was attentive and food came out timely. Diverse menu, lots of veggie options. Will come back.

Parking is terrible, the old factory ambiance wears thin REAL quick. Just because it is located in the "arts district" doesn't mean that you can't tear it down and build something(s) better with better parking and amenities.

Houses record stores, craft shops and all you would require to enjoy the yupie lifestyle. Safe neighborhood for the most part but do not stray too far off or the chances of getting mugged are there.
