there are many theaters in the Rochester area dozens of screens showing the same dozen movies. HOWEVER, venture downtown and you'll find the gem of the independent film world. Striving to bring the current, provocative, entertaining films being made today ALSO festivals & 2nd runs. You have a great time whatever you go to see.

The Little is a true gem. 5 theaters and a cafe (with live music) it offers a great mix of current Indie flicks, acclaimed commercial movies, documentaries, and locally produced film. While the main theatre is large, the other four theaters are cozy and smaller. Located on East Avenue in Rochester, near nightlife and cultural attractions, The Little is a... More

Hard to find words to describe the Little, a movie and cafe that provides a good deal of downtown's metropolitan feel. In fact, the Little is in itself a good enough reason to live in Rochester. Great movies, friendly staff, and a laid back yet inviting and sophisticated atmosphere. If you ever feel the need of a quiet but stimulating... More

6 theaters that show both indies and first rate big name movies as well; remodelled; clean; a true ambiance that the big box theaters lack...they offer senior, children, and matinee rates; baked goods; drinks; coffees...enough to keep you full during the movie...sometimes parking can be an issue; but there is a public lot a block away if you can't find... Every time I go to the Little Theater I am not disappointed. The price is right, popcorn is the best. They sell baked goods if you chose. I just love seeing movies there. It is not a big theater and the atmosphere is relaxing.

We had a free night during our recent stay in Rochester and decided to check out the Little Theater. So glad we did!!! Great restored theatre showing current Hollywood and independent movies. Nice cafe and it looks like a lot of great events happening here: readings, art shows, etc. Highly recommend!

It is always a treat to go to the Little Theater. It is the type of place that you feel celebrates the arts in all its glory. Film, Music, works of art, food. It is a ambiance that stimulates all of the senses. It enhances the experience being in company of friends.

THE art cinema in Rochester, and deservedly popular. Plus there's a nice little cafe inside that occasionally has live music. Parking can be a pain — especially if the weather's bad. But overall it's a great place to take in a film — the best in Rochester.
