I travel a lot and love farmer markets. This is one of the best in the country. Great place to people watch, wonderful local produce, unusual items and fun. Love the street musicians. Be cautious when selecting produce and keep in mind that it could be riper than you may be used to. Go near to closing time for the... More

The most frequent and first comment re: the Public Market I have heard is that "it is cheap". If cheap is your goal then this is it. The Rochester Public Market is a "Public Market" NOT a Farmers Market! Anything goes and by far the majority of Fruit and Vegetables are bought and re-sold, purchased from who knows where! Do... Great place for produce and local goodies! The booth that serves empenadas is awesome! Make sure to browse first, many booths sell similar items at a variety of prices.

This is a great place for shopping local produce, not only the products but you also get to know a lot about local economy business and culture. This is a great place to see the real local warmth, local produce at great prices and the culture. It is always interesting to visit as the products and the variety change greatly... More

I frequently visit the public market to pick up produce and other goodies. The prices here will beat Wegman's and other local grocers for the most part. Be sure to know your prices before going to make sure you are getting a deal. My favorite thing to do is pick up a couple amazing filets for next to nothing at... More

Good overall market experience. The had a wide array of foods. I saw organic meats, organic honey, fresh fruits, eggs, vegetables, cheeses, bakery items and flea market type stuff. I recommend to anyone going to go early so you get a parking spot and bring a portable shopping cart!! The portable, shopping cart will save you a aching back from ugging... More

You can start out by stopping at one of the many permanent venues for a cup of coffee and some breakfast. After a leisurely bite to eat. Make sure you bring your reusable shopping bags!!! There are many vendors- fruit vegetable meat cheese wine spirits. Clothes. Plants. Flowers. Baked goods. Lots of Organic vendors too. Bring cash. Some vendors take... More

I shopped here for 15 years as a resident of Rochester. We ate like Kings and Queens. The prices and quality are phenomenal. Go early; it is a popular place. Do not miss Coastal Seafood Indoors. Please tell Irving I sent you as he is a close personal friend.
