My wife and I go here on Saturday mornings several times every summer. We always leave with sacks-full of delicious locally-grown produce and plants for our community garden. You never know what you'll find there: last time we went, we ended up buying a couple of inexpensive well-made hats. Get there early - the parking lots fill up fast.

Was staying in the area for a weekend. Stopped by this market on a Saturday to grab some fresh produce to bring home to Massachusetts. What a selection a fresh veggies. I could have purchased more, but I had to restrain my self. Busy place. I had one of the empanadas to munch one while I walked through. Very tasty.... More

I've been there on Saturdays and Sundays. On saturdays there is a great variety of foods and Sundays"stuff". you do have to check what you are buying. The food at some places is better than at others. Some Sundays in spring they sell plants...which are very nice. Also some Sundays they hold what they call a great"garage sale". This used... More

This market is great and has a lot to offer: fruit, vegetables, clothes, great food, coffee and so much more. I would recommend the breakfast sandwich at the Italian cheese shop and an empanada at Juan and Maria's

People watching, food deals, dickering, the whole works in Rochester! Fun to wake up and get your fresh veggies and a breakfast treat/coffee and see the locals. One of my favorite things to do!

The Public Market is open on Thursdays and Saturdays. Vendors bring a variety of delicious in season fruits and veggies. But, that's not all! The stores that surround the outdoor market have delicious baked goods ($1.00 coffee-with free refills! What's not to love?), etc. PLUS!! There are Flower City Sundays in May; and Flea Markets throughout the summer on Sunday.... More

Unless you have never been to a farmer's market, there is nothing special about this one. It may be a great place for local residents, but I would not recommend it as an attraction. There are a lot of vendors, but there is not a lot of variety in what is offered. Most are vegetable and fruit stands and not... More

I love open air markets and have yet to find 1 as complete as Rochester's very own. Hadn't been in the area for about 5 years and not having access to the veritable shopping mall of staple and unique foods hurt immensely. And try to beat the prices. Worth getting up in the morning every visit.

I have been going to the Public Market for years, and always find the best vendors, produce, and bargains. It's a sea of diversity, with something for everyone. If you haven't gone, you're missing something special.
