First I would like to say I was visiting from the Midwest and had my 15 daughter with me. The greedy bastards at the Watkins Glen raceway charged an extra $10 for her which got her NOTHING! Not even a bottle of water. I get that the sponsers do not want kids there but I feel like I got raped.... More

The Finger Lakes of central NY in any season are beautiful. Bring your camera and be ready to enjoy the sight of the lakes, surrounded by hills and valleys, trees and flowers and some gorgeous homes. You will find antique shops, cheeseries, and so much more. I've visited the various wine countries of the Finger Lakes many times; there are... More

We have yet to visit the local wineries, but the area is our favorite escape for hiking and picnics.

My husband and I have been on many wine tours and the Finger Lakes is absolutely by far the best! There are several lakes to choose from, our favorite is Seneca Lake with Keuka Lake a close 2nd. There are so many wineries that it's impossible to visit them all in one day. Many of the wineries have beautiful views... More

The region provides so many opportunities, if you set your mind to do everything it has to offer, not only in summer but winter you would have to be on vacation for a year in this area. Everything from the 100s of wineries, craft breweries, and distilleries, to enjoying the mountainous area, Racing cars at Watkins Glenn, horse races, good... More

There are three main wine trails: Keuka, Seneca, and Cayuga, all circling those lakes. Over 200 wineries in all, plus a variety of craft breweries. Tasting wines, understanding food pairings, and enjoying craft beer is great fun, educational, and tasty! Several wineries have excellent restaurants as well for unique lunches and dinners. The scenery is breathtaking. It would take days... More

OK first and foremost this is a great way to spend an afternoon (with a designated driver). Huge mix of wineries, from formal setting to little hole-in-the-wall places. The setting is not a determinant of the wine. The only thing that's pretty consistent is that the standard red's are not NYS forte. White (especially sweet whites) are better. But try... More

The Finger lakes Region of New York State is one of tyne most beautiful regions in the country. There are 11 different lakes that run roughly north-south centered between Buffalo and Syracuse. Some are close to 40 miles long, and all are surrounded by beautiful hills. Seven of these lakes produce local wines. There are over 100 wineries in the... More

We've been to most areas of the world to taste wines. The only one that might be close as far as scenery, would be the high country of Mendoza, Argentina. The reds of California, France and Italy are better. Alsace whites are close. But that said, the overall experience of the Finger Lakes area is truly second to none. Add... More
