Go to see the air show but get there earlier to admire the old plane replicas (I think a few may be restored originals) that they have in three hangers, a museum, and out on the airfield. The hangers are a bit dark and dingy, and the planes are cramped very close together. A collection of the quality that they... More

If you love the early history of aviation, or even have a passing interest, Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome is a must see. The brainchild of pilot and aircraft preservationist Cole Palen, this "living history" museum boasts one of the most extensive collections of early aircraft in the world. There are four hangers full of them, arranged in a rough chronology from... More

If you are into planes, this is a good place to be. The antique plane and car collection is interesting. I recommend going on the days they have air shows. For $20.00 you get admission to the grounds and a two hour air show. If you want to ride a biplane, it will cost $75.00 for a 15 minute ride.... More

The last time I went was over 20 years ago and it didn't look like anything changed. Even the shows are the same. The show had some audience participation, silly story lines, a fun announcer, lots of solid information, and wonderful planes up in the air. My favorite part, however, was taking a ride ($75) in an open cockpit bi-plane.... More

GHOSTS OF THE RED BARON Reading" Baraba 270's" negative postings I re-visited ORA last year. Sadly the Sunday airshow was rained out - no fault of ORA. However my Saturday visit was fun, not the least taking a ride in a 1929 open cockpit biplane - than chasing a vintage Tiger Moth out over the Hudson River..what fun! ORA in... More

Went up to Kingston recently for the weekend with the little ones (preschooler and toddler). Weather was beautiful and the grounds were fairly small but well kept. Everyone who worked there was very nice and the atmosphere was homey. Because the day was on the breezy side, we were told before we parked that the planes had been grounded so... More

The day before they called saying pilot can't make it. No one else can do it? Unprofessional and from other recent reviews looks like is sucks now. I went back in the mid 90s it was cool. Sounds like nothing has been done since them They are a zero don't go if you make plans don't go period f them

My husband wanted to go back and see Rhinebeck after 40 years. The reviews were great so I was really looking forward to the visit. I have no idea what the reviewers who gave this place excellent ratings were looking at. What a joke it was. The only word that comes to mind is pathetic. We knew walking in the... More

We are sorry that our first day open to the public was rough. The winter was brutal, and our volunteers were working hard on airfield preparations, with air shows just a month away. We are especially dismayed that you didn't find the 60-plus airplanes, cars and motorcycles, as well as engines, art and displays, in our hilltop museum buildings. As... More

We went in 2009 and we still talk about it. If you love planes, you will love this. We splurged and went on the biplane ride - OH MY! What a blast! This is a must-do for old and young alike!

Very entertaining, historic and different. A live outdoor show with antique airplanes and stories to go along with them.
