we went to the old rhinebeck aerodrome early as we didn't want the biplane rides to get sold out. it started out as a cloudy daybut it was expected to clear up mid-morning, so the pilot went up a couple of times to check the cloud ceiling. we were second in line for the biplane rides, and one of the... We saw the Saturday afternoon show, which includes aircraft from the earliest era to the 1930s, and one or two from the 1940s flying in the vicinity of the grass strip. Granted, the two earliest aircraft did short hops only on the runway, but we're talking about a plane from 1909 and another from 1911! There are in addition several... More

We arrived at the aeordrome at 10:00 on a saturday morning. We wanted to go for a bi-plane ride and it is posted as first come first serve. We had the very first ride of the day. It was an amzing experience, the open cockpit flight was about 20 minutes from take off to touch down. It's truly something that... More

We had a great time at the airshow and loved the bi-plane ride! This is a great living museum. There's a replica of the Wright flyer and many unique machines from the early twentieth century.

We had a great afternoon here. My husband's second trip. The first one about 45 years ago with his Dad. Great for families.. The planes you just can't see anywhere else in the world flying. You can get a ride in a 1929 plane for $75 a person. The show is great. They have snack bars but if it is... More

If you are in the Hudson Valley on a weekend and the weather is good, you can see a nice air show for a $20 admission charge. The show can be best described as a flying circus. It is best if you manage your expectations in regards to the weather. I visited this place three times, once it was rained... More

This is a very laid-back out of the way place to get to. But worth the visit if you balance mansions and gardens against early technology, especially if your partner is male. Authentic planes and reproductions of, plus the engines that go with. Including early cars, Although interesting to see some of these early planes and wonder why you'd risk... More

An Afternoon of Sky Balet for the whole family. a one and a half hour drive north from NY city. Whatch the Air show of Vintage airplanes and delight in the excitement. A fine little town Rhinebeck. Stay for dinner and rest in a local B&B after the show.

Take a trip back in time at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. This is an authentic place with rear planes that are still flown on a regular basis. If you have been to other aircraft museums they are just that, shiny, pristine places where everything is in perfect order and relics of the past are polished and kept at a respectable... More
