Even thought this is one of the most left wing schools in the US, this art center is a wonderful place, the art there is wonderful -----just don't talk politics - it is a very nice campus - it's like a jr. art center you would find the city - I was vey impressed.

One of the most beautiful campuses we've ever visited - friendly students who are clearly very talented! The library looks like a castle. Great dance studios too.

Wonderful permanent collection, good temp. exhibits. Vassar is rich, so's their art collection. I call it the mini-Metropolitan! Many Mexican restaurants nearby on Main St.

This art gallery is located in the heart of the gorgeous Vassar campus. There is no admission fee. The gallery is exquisitely designed and the collection is astonishing: works by Picasso, de Kooning, Rothko, Matisse, O'Keefe, Munch, Bacon are on display, as well as an impressive array of decorative arts, Medieval 2-dimensional iconography, and antiquities. As a DC resident spoiled... More

This well-designed and workable 36,000 ft2, Art Center designed by Cesar Pelli, now w/the reinstalled Sculpture Garden, has a broad and useful collection for study. The Art Center has some excellent and unusual works by Georgia O'Keefe, Picasso, Miro, Rothko, and Agnes Martin. Some of these works are "typical", others are either early in their career, or diverge from their... More

This art gallery is a well kept secret. it is at Vassar College. Although I have lived in Poughkeepsie most of my life, I have only recently discovered this treat.

Smaller than its downriver counterparts Dia Beacon and Storm King Art Center, the Loeb makes a third major art destination for your weekend. Anchored by Vassar College founder Matthew Vassar's (1861) excellent collection of Hudson River landscape painters (of which part is always on display), the Loeb represents many generations of good curation and donation by Vassar's noted art faculty... Amazing collection of art at Vassar College. We were surprised at the number of very well known artists who were in this collection. Only need about 30 minutes to tour the center.
