My wife and I took a day off together and one of our little treat was a visit here. At first we were blown away by both the museum and the collection. But then we noticed a little man shadowing us. He worked for the museum and although we have been to many museums in NYC and been aware of... More

The campus is lovely year round and this museum is always worth a stop. We've been to some very thoughtful temporary exhibits, which were terrific, but found that the permanent collection was surprisingly interesting too. Check out the theater program .if you can get tickets to a Powerhouse production on campus too, you're on your way to a potentially perfect... More

This is a small museum on the Vassar campus that contains a permanent collection along with special exhibitions. Except for major holidays, it is open seven days. And the staff is very helpful if you have questions.

This is a very good art museum, and it's free to the public. Parking is free too. They have a small collection of Hudson River School paintings, but it has more variety than you may find at other museums. It also different styles of art in the permanent collection. We visited on a Saturday morning, and there were very few... More

The FLLAC is a very friendly art gallery. It is a reasonable size -- about 13 display rooms plus an outdoor garden. it almost always has a visiting show or two. The permanent collection is excellent, ranging from a small masterpiece from the workshop of Rogier van der Weyden (ca. 1400) through pieces from each major epoch of Western art... More

Very impressive college art museum that was well designed and thought out by Cesar Pelli and opened in 1993. You can take pictures of the collection, but not special exhibitions or things Vassar doesn’t own. The main galleries are open and filled with light, and not overwhelmed by the architecture like so many museums lately. Upstairs is a more intimate... More

If you are visiting the Vassar college campus this is a must see. For a small college it has an excellent well rounded permanent collection and good temporary exhibits

A small, extremely well curated gem of a place just inside the Vassar campus. A spectacular collection of Hudson River Valley School (duh), plus exquisite examples of Picasso, Leger, O'Keefe, Calder, and many others. A wonderful place to spend a few hours.
