The Walkway is a converted train bridge that I believe is the longest walkway of its kind in the world. It is about 1.5 miles across and to go from one end to the other and back is about 3 miles. Its a nice and healthy walk. There are high rails and it is safe. The view as you walk... More

If you want to walk across the Hudson river, there is no finer way than walking across this revamped railroad bridge. We park on the Highland side, there always seems to be enough parking, even in the warmer months. There are joggers, bikers, and walkers, all going at their own pace. The bridge is very high, so if you aren't... More

Even if you have acrophobia, you won't mind walking on this bridge. The view of the Hudson is spectacular. Also had good views of Poughkeepsie. Fun and unique!

The walkway is 200 feet over the Hudson, with great views of the city of Poughkeepsie, The Mid Hudson Bridge and the river itself. Round trip is about three miles, but you can make it even longer if you wish

I love the walkway and the trail at large. Every season it reveals a different aspect... great place to exercise, meditate, or just go with a child...

An easy walk over the Hudson River, the views are fantastic on either side of the bridge. There are gentle slopes at the ends of the walkway. Seems popular with tourists, expect a few runners and cyclists.

I went over the Walkway on 3 occasions. It's a good place to walk. There are many people with the same idea. You can stop and snack or just walk to exercise. On one occasion I had a young child with me. He enjoyed himself immensely.

Reached the bridge about 9.30am on a freezing winter day. Parked the car at a open area and made a slow walk across the bridge. A very cold and windy day to cross the bridge but upon reaching the center of the bridge, we caught a nice view of the hudson river.
