The walking bridge is a great place for a long afternoon walk. It can get busy so go early. We have also biked across and most folks are good about making room. The views of the river are fabulous and shouldn't be missed. In the summer on weekends they have vendors on both sides to pick up a little snack.... More

What could make this better? It's free and there are great views. It can be very busy, but I found most people were very considerate. Families, groups couples, even dogs are there. Just relax and enjoy this spot! I would definitely stow any items left in your parked car out of view...or better yet, not bring anything of value to... More

If you want to do some activity with bicycle or on foot you can walk over the Hudson. It is free and a good activity.

I prefer access from the Ulster County side, even though I live in Dutchess. Better, safer parking on the west (Ulster) side. Yes, the view is impressive, especially in the fall. But this is also the the time the bridge is most crowded. My concern with the bridge is the need for bike lanes with enforcement. This bridge is far... More

The walkway is so simple, but so beautifully done, it is a real joy to visit. We are local and go there on a regular basis and also bring family and friends who are in town. It is free and great for a stroll and pictures with awesome backgrounds. My suggestion is to park on the Highland side which is... More

We had a great time walking this bridge. The views are lovely and our 11 year old daughter had a great time taking pictures all along the walkway. Very enjoyable.

Exercise, great sites and Internatioal Peoples are just some just some of things you encounter as we walk across this old railway bridge turned public walkway for two and quarter mile walk . This walkway is truly for everyone and that's just what see as you cross form side to the other. Wish I live \near the walkway, I would use... More

I reached an entrance near the Poughkeepsie train station, and was told that the elevator was out of service after 3. The next day, Friday, December 27, I dropped off my wife and son in the station, and then followed the bridge, finding a free parking lot on Washington Street, which is very close to one entrance. What makes this... More

This is one of those great projects that sounds a little odd but came together beautifully. The bridge has such a great view its hard to keep walking. The also connects some 20 miles of trails from both sides of the river. Can get a little windy and cold but on a sunny day there is no place better to... More
