Don't let rumors of dog droppings scare you! GO! The Hudson River Valley is beautiful, and here's a chance to cross the river by foot, putting in almost 3 miles round trip! There are a few benches closer to middle section, interesting informational plaques, audio tour available on your phone, and more! Don't hesitate to strike up a conversation with... More

This park is very simple, but really amazing. I've been wanting to go to the walkway for a long time, and finally got the opportunity this weekend. Although it was cold and very windy, there were really breathtaking views that were enjoyed anyway. I wish we could have done the 4.5 mile loop but it was just too cold. Definitely... More

There are several bridges up and down the Hudson north of NYC but this repurposed RR bridge from the late 1800s is arguably the most impressive on several dimensions. First, the structure itself is spectacular in an industrial sort of way. Then standing over 200 feet about the water is unsusual, but the best are the views up and down... More

I really didn't think this bridge would happen, but there it is, since 2009. It's so nice to stroll the bridge and see so many people, both local and from afar, enjoying this great asset to the Hudson Valley. It's well taken care of, clean and, for the most part, people follow the rules and are keeping it nice. On... More

In walking on this bridge- it does not feel like a bridge- more like an elevated road. Can be quite windy being that high above the Hudson River. Good exercise going from one side to the other. On the Highland side there is plenty of parking and eateries on Route 9W. My elderly aunt in her early 90s was able... More

Omg I can't say how many times I went here. Every time I have friends over from the city or overseas, I always take them there and they love it. I also bike there a lot usually from Hopewell Junction then back. It's about 30 miles total. They have finished the bike trail to the west too and we went... More

The bridge is quite long so people that have problem walking should think about it. It might get windy on the bridge and there are restrooms available on either end of it.

My family and I have been on the Walkway so many times and we still enjoy visiting it. We have been there in all seasons and still find something new to look at and discuss. Seeing how walking is the best known conversation starter, there is always something to talk about while looking at the great views. I especially like... More

It is an amazing place to enjoy outdoors in Poughkeepsie. The Hudson River is beautiful. The historical significance, alone is a draw. The park is well maintained and staffed with workers and volunteers.
