Beautiful walk with the foliage!

Late afternoon walk along the river, watching the water flow and the traffic across the bridges. The scenery was beautiful...very peaceful, relaxing walk

The fall colors were incredible! Year-round sunsets are spectacular here. Good view of the Walkway and Mid-Hudson bridges! Friendly staff.

There are a few pretty good venues along the Hudson with mesmerizing views, depending on the season. Poughkeepsie's Waryas Park is central, in close proximity to the Mid Hudson span, and just south of the walkway. It is great to stroll along the path, as well as picnic at the tables or benches. Several mature men routinely gather in the... More

Poughkeepsie's waterfront is a nice place to observe the change of seasons. Walk along the river. Stop at a park bench. Watch the CSX trains run along the former New York Central main line on the other side of the river. Or walk the Poughkeepsie rail bridge across the river. In other words get out and enjoy your river. It's... More

This is a wonderful park along the river. Only problem is the sidewalk is covered with dog pop, trash cans overflowing and trash all over the place. People have no pride in their city and city officials must not care. How sad! Ever hear of curbing your Dog?

Come enjoy the waterfront for the view or maybe stop by during one of the many fairs that are held there.

Before we left Poughkeepsie, we were lokking for something to do for a half-hour. This suited our need. Nice leisurely walk along the Hudson River. Nice views. Very relaxing.

Many great times! Lots of events...boat rides...restaurants...shops...sorry this is so general but check the city website for specific events and dates, times etc. Fireworks can be viewed...close to train station...walking distance to many places of interest...generally there is good police presence and I have never had an issue but the flavor changes as the sun goes down...more young adults and... The water front has suffered for the most part, the ice restaurant has open up as well as the walkway across the Hudson. They have increase revenue. The problem is... More
