We use the ferry whenever possible and have never had a bad trip. The bathrooms on board are clean and the ticket offices are fast, though it seems there must be a more efficient way to purchase tickets. We bought some pre-made breakfast sandwiches at the grill, about what you'd expect. There is a bar that seems pretty lively. I... More

If you never tried the Port Jefferson ferry. Try it. It is much better than driving around and with the price of gas and tolls....

We take the Ferry at least once a year. It is far more relaxing than driving all around from Longs Island to CT. It is comfortable with several different boats running. They all serve some kind of food to make the trip easier as well. This is good for everyone. As for Seniors the discount is only for walk on... More

This trip was expensive but pretty much worth the ticket. I just wish I had known - for our trip into Port Jefferson, the ferry was suggested but, and on this I would have to agree with previous reviews that the website could use improvements, we were intimidated by the process and timing and ended up driving through NYC. Our... More

Call and make your reservation because the website is not user friendly. The enter and exit is crazy with the loading area so small. Must pay attention to your surroundings as you go through the loading dock. Watch out for pedestrians and drivers not knowing what they are doing. Always a great escape for spontaneous trips and a fun boat... More

I was bored and decided to spend a day across Long Island Sound by way of the ferry. From the CT side, enter at Bridgeport's Harbor Yard. Parking is ample, but you'll have to walk to the dock from there. They need shuttle service for this as it's risky walking on the slim street where vehicles travel also to board... More

We've had good experiences with this car ferry between Bridgeport, CT and Port Jefferson, NY (on Long Island). If you are heading to Long Island from the Northeast, the ferries do a great job of allowing one to avoid the traffic around NYC. The crossing takes slightly over an hour and the vessels are almost always right on time. We... More

From Port Jefferson to Bridgport and back it is the best way to travel. You can have a snack or sit in or out and enjoy the scenery. The staff is most helpful and curtious.
