We discovered the ferry while visiting in southern CT and decided to take it from Bridgeport to Port Jefferson. We were delighted to get the free shuttle van from the parking lot to the ferry and back! Boarding was very smooth. Seating was very comfortable in both directions, with nice sights of the water and shoreline. We lucked out by... More

The boat...PT Barnum....was old and rusty and kind of dirty....food choices at the snack bar was boring and pre made....I know the boats are running constantly but they should maintain them better...the ride was smooth....like I said better than driving around but they could improve the experience....$56 for car and driver additional $16 for each passenger.

we had 4:15pm reservation on a Friday(Memorial Day Weekend). We arrived at 2pm and the guys let us in, allowing us to be home early. Thank you guys, you rule! It is amazing to see how you fill the ferry with such a military precision. This is the best way to avoid Manhattan on a busy weekend.

There are 3 ferry's that carry cars, trucks and foot passengers. The fastest way to get to and from CT. They are fun in ALL weather.

Liked the fast trip across L.I. Sound better than sitting in traffic in the city. The boat was clean and the restrooms maintained. The fare is a little expense if you travel round trip.

This is the best way to get from Long Island to Connecticut and beyond. Cuts out that ridiculous trip through Nassau, Queens, and I95 through Connecticut. Drive your car onboard and relax. You will arrive in an hour and be calm and ready to drive without the hassle of gridlock, tolls, etc. It's not cheap, about $72 for car, driver,... More

Use this regularly- not cheap, but easily the best way to avoid the pot-holes, tolls and traffic if you're heading north!

Well, let's be honest here. We all know that you're reading this review of the Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Ferry because you're stuck on the 1+ hour ferry ride and you forgot to bring your iPad and now have absolutely nothing else to do. If you're already on the ferry, then you already know what I'm about to tell you.... More

A varied way to get from Long Island to Connecticut. Cold, crisp weather made the trip worthwhile. Efficient loading and unloading; comfortable indoor seats. The advance reservation online page is a bit confusing in that it shows a calendar that starts with a Monday rather than a Sunday - this resulted in our double booking to get the right day... More
