This is the best way to get from Long Island to Connecticut and beyond. Cuts out that ridiculous trip through Nassau, Queens, and I95 through Connecticut. Drive your car onboard and relax. You will arrive in an hour and be calm and ready to drive without the hassle of gridlock, tolls, etc. It's not cheap, about $72 for car, driver,... More

Use this regularly- not cheap, but easily the best way to avoid the pot-holes, tolls and traffic if you're heading north!

Well, let's be honest here. We all know that you're reading this review of the Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Ferry because you're stuck on the 1+ hour ferry ride and you forgot to bring your iPad and now have absolutely nothing else to do. If you're already on the ferry, then you already know what I'm about to tell you.... More

A varied way to get from Long Island to Connecticut. Cold, crisp weather made the trip worthwhile. Efficient loading and unloading; comfortable indoor seats. The advance reservation online page is a bit confusing in that it shows a calendar that starts with a Monday rather than a Sunday - this resulted in our double booking to get the right day... More

avoid the traffic of 95 to the white Stone to the cross island to the L.I.E ! this comfortable, reliable ferry is a pleasure. drive your car on, park, get out and go to the upper deck and work your tan or sit in the comfortable seats and have a snack. The Ferry people are friendly and professional. in one... More

I travel back and forth to upstate NY on a regular basis and I wouldn't do it if I had to drive through the city. The ferry is easy- I've never had a boarding issue with them. The website can be a bit interesting at times ( it's easier if you have an account with them) for last minute reservations... More

Always on time. Eliminates much of I-95 and the LI expressway mayhem. Comfortable seating, heat, enjoy coffee, take care of business calls etc. reasonably quiet.

We use the ferry whenever possible and have never had a bad trip. The bathrooms on board are clean and the ticket offices are fast, though it seems there must be a more efficient way to purchase tickets. We bought some pre-made breakfast sandwiches at the grill, about what you'd expect. There is a bar that seems pretty lively. I... More

If you never tried the Port Jefferson ferry. Try it. It is much better than driving around and with the price of gas and tolls....

We take the Ferry at least once a year. It is far more relaxing than driving all around from Longs Island to CT. It is comfortable with several different boats running. They all serve some kind of food to make the trip easier as well. This is good for everyone. As for Seniors the discount is only for walk on... More
