I love Mendon Ponds. We hike theEast Esker trail frequently it is a hilly trail with many ups and downs. A great workout. It is great for running and it dries out quickly after wet days. It is a challenging run. I also like the gentle run around Quaker Pond and South Medows. Add I the Nature Center for a... More

A large park, over 300 acres I believe, with great hiking trails, ponds and areas for family get-to-gathers. Plenty of deer and other wildlife, great for birding.

As a child, my family spent an incredible amount of time here. Every Sunday my father, brother and I would hike one of the many trails. My favorite by far is Bird Song Trail by the nature center. We would get a bag of sunflower seeds and head down the trail to where the Chickadees are. We would fill our... More

A wonderful park close to the southeastern suburbs. Great hiking and cross country skiing, especially the East Esker Trail and the Quaker Ponds Trails.

Mendon Ponds Park is close to my brother's house and we go biking, hiking, skiing and running there. The trails are well kept.

Mendon Ponds is beautiful! Full of cool geological history. Glaciers thousands and thousands of years ago left there mark for us to enjoy today. Lots of wildlife to look at, trails to hike, run or horseback. A big pond to swim and sail a boat on in the summer, hills to sled on in the winter. A popular place for... More

Although there are many fantastic parks in the greater Rochester area, this is one of our favorites! It is a fantastic place to escape to when you want to connect to nature without getting too far from everything. There is an abundance of trails to hike throughout the park and plenty of opportunities for bird/wildlife watching. Be sure to bring... More

Mendon Ponds is always a treat to visit. We have been there to walk, hike, run, sit, attend functions, feed the birds, Nordic ski, snowshoe, canoe, kayak, walk the dog etc. You can almost always see deer, birds on the ponds, chickadees plus various sightings of so much more. It's beautiful year round.

Spacious. You can always find a quiet spot. Great for summer picnics, fantastic for snow sleighing, beautiful autumn foliage. Hundreds of dear, raccoon, birds, foxes, etc. I love to go there, seat on a bench and just watch mother nature.

With so many beautifully maintained trails, lovely ponds, play areas and a beach you cannot go wrong taking a picnic to Mendon Ponds and enjoying this interesting geological area. Winter too is fun as the chickadees will land on your palm to take nibbles of food.
