There are numerous trails to walk, all serene and alive with the sound of nature. I enjoyed taking my kids fishing there when they were little because there was a playground right by the pond area. One of my girls wasn't into fishing so she sat under a tree and read a book. The trails are varied in length and... More

I was born one block from this adorable little park and rambled all over it as a child. Creeks, shelters for picnics, lots of natural woodland landscape. And a lot of stories!

I go hiking there practically every day. Numerous trails and spurs. Great variety. And of course there's the beauty of the ponds, woods and meadows.

This was one of my favorite places to visit growing up. On cold days in the winter when there wasn't a lot of desire to go out into the snow, we'd go out for the trek if it meant we could have birds whiz into our hands snatch seeds and fly away. It feels like a magical thing.

There are so many great things to do in Mendon Ponds. My step-dad and I always take the motorcycles through on beautiful sunny days and with friends, we would have picnics, play Frisbee and football and just listen to music. Also, Devil's bathtub is a great place to get away and write, read or listen to music if you need... More

This park really is a great location for doing anything outdoors you would like-- hiking, resting, party!!! It is easy to reserve a location for a group (recently I took 35 people for a party there) and it also offers great hiking (hills and flat). It is maintained well and the people there just seem very pleasant. Great spot to... More

I've hiked almost all the trails in Mendon Ponds. It is a great place with very good geographical features - good hills, several ponds, streams, woods. Great sledding in the winter, too!

Mendon Ponds Park has incredibly interesting topography, much of which was created by glaciers in the last ice age. A day hike will take you back to high school earth science as you traverse drumlins and kames and walk by kettle lakes. Hikes can include bogs, deciduous and coniferous forests, open meadows, streams, ponds and lakes. Great bird watching in... More

Mendon Ponds Park is for most of the Rochester Region within a 25 minute drive. It is full of hiking trails and fair sized ponds to amble about and around, as well off trail points. If the weather has been fairly wet you want to avoid the lower grounds. If you are an avid hiker you should have sensible hiking... More

Mendon Ponds is perfect for ANY type of visit: picnic and walk with the kids? Check! Hiking, kayaking or fishing? Of course! I've been visiting for years and I can't say there's ever a time of year, or place in the park that isn't perfect to visit.
