With so many beautifully maintained trails, lovely ponds, play areas and a beach you cannot go wrong taking a picnic to Mendon Ponds and enjoying this interesting geological area. Winter too is fun as the chickadees will land on your palm to take nibbles of food.

Whether you like to hike, bike, walk, fish, or just GET OUTSIDE, this huge park has something for everyone. The kettle lake is really cool, and I am just amazed at how well such an expansive park such as this is maintained. I'll stop here every time I come to Rochester!

I went to the park today with my kayak thinking I could enjoy a quiet time on the pond and catch a couple fish. Yes, I could ....sort of.... kayak. There are soooooooooo many weeds you are pulling them off your paddle just about every time it goes in the water. You can't fish for anything because it is so... More

Mendon Ponds Park is the epitome of the Audubon nature park. There are several miles of trails that wind through fields and deep forest, providing an opportunity to see a variety of birds, animals and plants. Several of the trails are short and flat for folks who don't do long hikes. There is a garden for butterflies and hummingbirds, with... More

The glacially-formed terrain includes several ponds, large and small. A great place to calmly kayak or canoe. Great trails, lots of deer, birds and other wildlife. Shady picnic spots. And even in the winter, there are plenty of opportunities for sledding. Nothing fancy, just a nice quite place to enjoy nature and take a break from life's busy pace.

This is a great family park. They have very nice hiking trails and small educational huts for the kids. (these are little kiosks explaining the various wildlife and fauna found in the park.) This park is also home to the Wild Wings Bird sanctuary. This is a must stop for the whole family. The birds are all rescues and this... More

There are numerous trails to walk, all serene and alive with the sound of nature. I enjoyed taking my kids fishing there when they were little because there was a playground right by the pond area. One of my girls wasn't into fishing so she sat under a tree and read a book. The trails are varied in length and... More

I was born one block from this adorable little park and rambled all over it as a child. Creeks, shelters for picnics, lots of natural woodland landscape. And a lot of stories!

I go hiking there practically every day. Numerous trails and spurs. Great variety. And of course there's the beauty of the ponds, woods and meadows.

This was one of my favorite places to visit growing up. On cold days in the winter when there wasn't a lot of desire to go out into the snow, we'd go out for the trek if it meant we could have birds whiz into our hands snatch seeds and fly away. It feels like a magical thing.
