Due to an unseasonably warm winter, we hiked this on Christmas Eve. The train is well-marked with several mucky areas, but I kept thinking what amazing X-country ski terrain! Lots of horses share the trail so beware of piles! ;) It's well-loved by the natives and a beautiful spot to impress us out-of-staters. I wasn't sure what to expect, but... More

This park is a geological gem. Great trails, a lovely nature center, and a raptor rehab center. Oh yeah, the Monroe County Sheriff's Mounted Police horses are here. One of the trails by the nature center is a favorite spot to feed chickadees. Put some seed on your head and they will land. You will see deer everywhere. Be careful... More

This is a gorgeous park, with lots of beautiful hiking year round and wonderful sledding and cross country skiing in the winter. At the south end of the park, near the Nature Center that is located near the most southern entrance off of Clover Street, you will find my favorite part of the park, the trails nearby called the Nature... Mendon Ponds Park is the gem of the Monroe Country Parks system- a huge park that offers large ponds for paddling, miles of trails for hiking/walking/horseback riding, mowed fields for frisbee and picnics. Nice hills for sledding in winter. The 2500 acre park has some unique glacial features, such as high sandy-ridged eskers and a deep kettle pond called Devil's... More

I've lived in Monroe Co. for 23 years. I visited the perimeter of the park..........but never walked the trails. OMG......how wonderful, how well taken care of. Multiple trails........I've only begun to explore.

The park is a great place to walk or just drive through slowly to see the beautiful trees, rolling hills, small ponds, wild life any time of year. They have picnic areas and shelters you can rent from the county of Monroe

This is a very beautiful park that offers many options, such as walking, running, horseback riding and bicycling. Lots of trail options as well. Paths are fairly wide, just be careful to wear proper footwear especially after a rain, as the trails can be very muddy. The walk around the large pond was especially pretty this Fall with all the... This park is unique in that it offers so many things to people with various interests-hiking trails, horseback riding trails, a huge pond to boat in or swim, lots of wildlife and birds, and a bird rehabilitation center for birds of prey. The trails are well kept and marked. There is a custodian on the site. The cabin areas are... More

This is a beautiful area that runners just love. It is great for bicycling as well. Just be careful as there is thru traffic. Maps are deceiving (even Google maps) so be prepared to do a few u-turns.

My friends were married on the grounds of the park with a reception following at the historic Cobblestone house in the park. The venue was amazing with a number of place to have the wedding either on the grounds or in the house. I was sorry I didn't get to discover the park a bit more, because it was just... More
