My husband and I were visiting his daughter at college when we came upon this lovely shop. The owner was just lovely, and boy did we score some great stuff: vintage vinyl records that we've been coveting forever (in mint condition, and really reasonably priced). We also picked up some great little household items and vintage linens. All in all,... More

Mystery Spot is a must for visitors to the Catskills. It is chock full of items and clothing that you never realized you needed! It is also a trip down memory lane for real and recovered memories of items and clothing from days of yore. It is part museum and part museum gift shop. you can easily spend hours here... More

I bought the most AMAZING pair of purple boots here, and the owner even gave me a 10% discount that I wasn't expecting. There is so much interesting stuff to look at it will blow your mind...a true indoor flea market! If you are a collector, this place is a MUST. Truly a one-of-a-kind store in a lovely location in... My husband and I first stumbled into the Mystery Spot around 7 years ago. Winding our way past shelves of mysterious and strangely meaningful objects, we deduced that they had been collected and arranged by an artist (and we've since learned that we were right.) We return to the Mystery Spot whenever we can because we always find what we... More

Having been to the Mystery Spot several times over the last few years, I'm finally getting around to mentioning it here. Visiting this shop, amongst several fun places in Phoenicia, is always a delight & lots of fun. My favorite part is the back room filled with vintage vinyl records. The books & even some of the clothing always hold... More

We stop into Mystery Spot every so often when we're in the area. I'm not an antiques person and I happen to find 60-yr old clothes and shoes to be kind of gross. But I like to sort through the books and the old family photos on display. My mom gets a kick out of the array of clothes and... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry we do not have a public restroom. The room you mentioned is in fact our dressing room and it is reserved for our customers to try on vintage outfits they are considering purchasing. We take great pride in our eleven years of business, repeat customers, and consistently... More

And I've been to a lot! I make at least two trips a year, and have a special budget, and a special place in my heart, just for the Mystery Spot. After tubing down the Esophus river, I spend the rest of the day digging through classic vinyl, vintage suits, old books and magazines, antique kitchen stuff, lamps, and just... More

I can say, without exaggeration, that this place is like Mecca for thrift store hounds. So much to see, so much to covet... Proprietor Laura Levine has packed her store with the cool, the quirky, the fun and the poignant. I bought as much as I could carry back to Texas in my suitcase - and regretted having to leave... I love this place, and visit several times a year to see what Laura has brought in. The vintage clothing is fab, and some of it is brand new (!). I've also picked up a few fun housewares and doodads along the way. Don't miss it if you're in the nabe. More
