We're hibernating for the winter season! We may open for holiday weekends over the winter (i.e. Presidents' Weekend)before we reopen in Spring 2016. Described by Country Living magazine as "a love-at-first-sight wonderland of oddball collectibles, vintage clothing, and objects d'art," Mystery Spot Antiques is part store, part museum, part odditorium, and a whole lot of fun! Named for Homer & Langley, the infamous Collyer Brothers, this obsessive and artistic "Shrine to Clutter" is packed to the rafters with unusual antiques, tons of estate-fresh vintage clothing, 1,000's of used records & killer vinyl, found objects, mid-century lighting, out of print art books, and downright oddities such as the Creepy Doll Exhibit, Petey the Petrified Piranha, and Desdemona, the Devil Girl of Phoenicia. Heck, even when are doors aren't open, customers are welcome to dig through our dollar record bins and our famous yard sale in a box on the front porch, with an honor money drop at your service.

A must for lovers of vintage clothing, music, antiques, ephemera amd curios. The owner curates this seven-room labor of love with an artist's eye, and just walking around the shop is like being in a wonderful time machine of popular and bygone culture. And did I mention the prices? Bargains in every room! Leave yourself time to wander, and by... More

Tiny place, mostly clothes and music. Okay to look around but nothing fab. The staff was nice though.

This is quite the haven for the eccentric and the antique lover. With a very cluttered and divided layout, it can be very overstimulating and it can take a long time to browse properly. I didn't get a chance to look carefully as the place had too many opportunities for my toddlers to break something. The prices looked good though.

So much cool stuff to browse through at very reasonable prices-- and a GREAT Vinyl collection. Summer porch series concerts are a must see. On my last visit I left the proud owner of a great Mystery Spot Tee and a "Buffy" Paper Doll (Family Affair) "mini-star Anissa Jones's wardrobe of day-to-day fashions" book! For a friend.

The Mystery Spot is a unique antiques store, with vintage clothing, toys, shoes, household items, records, and more. As you comb through the many rooms, you never know exactly what you might find. Definitely worth a trip to Phoenicia!

If you are bored and want to do a little sightseeing while in Big Indian, NY, this little antique shop in Phoenicia will help you bide your time for awhile. It has a very good album collection, lots of old clothing, books, and other collectibles; nothing high-end, but worth visiting.

We were a group of 3 with a 14 year old teenager who loves antiques and quirky items, and we had just a blast looking through the old clothes, albums and other trinkets.... ended up buying a blouse, vintage maybe of the late 80's which had an interesting MTV story linked to it. Loved the owners photographs, and was impressed... More

'Antiques' is too boring a word to use in a description of the Mystery Spot. Imagine all the stuff in all of the garage sales that ever were. Then imagine selecting the creme-de-la-creme of all that stuff (well, no automotive stuff or tools)--every one in a million item--and placing those exquisite pieces in a store. THAT'S what the Mystery Spot... More

We sneaked in just before closing time and the owner was generous to stay open and answer our silly questions. There was a lot of quality stuff in this shop, jewelry, art novelty items and more. The owner was helpful by mentioning other shops we could visit.
