This is a great time. Make sure you don't go too early in the season (before July) as the water will be ice cold. You can rent a tube and even sneakers if you need them. They will drive you up in a bus and drop you off at the top of the river. Then you can cruise down at... More

If you have *any* misgivings about whitewater, please just don't go. We went on dam release day by chance, so the water was particularly fast and rough. After capsizing repeatedly on rocks, I was dragged by my tube over the bottom, totally helpless, got crazy banged up and truly could have drowned. I've never been so scared in my life.... More

Glad I'm alive today to post this review. I should of went with my first gut feeling that this is not safe...for anyone especially on a release day. The worst part of this experience is that my husband & I took our 19 & 14 year old along. When we checked in & they said my 14 year old had... More

I went tubing for the first time, and it was a thrill that everyone must experience at least once in their lifetime. We paid $25 that included a ride to the drop of location, life vest, and a tube. You can also rent water shoes and a helmet if you prefer. Most people, as I did, brought their own shoes.... More

So yes, the other reviews are right, it can get a little dangerous, but with my experience, it wasn't that bad. I don't know if it was a water release day or not, but the rapids were fun and did not cause any near death experiences for me or any of the other 11 people in my group. You basically... More

We waited for the water release date to partake in the tubing. It was well worth the wait! The creek was about up to our hips and moving fast. The water was brown and very warm. The girl who signed us up mentioned it was a Class II rapid, we were excited. We did not take the helmets but after... More

If I had read these reviews before getting into the river last weekend would i have believed tubing could be so dangerous and terrifying? I am glad that I did it for one reason only -- so I can know enough to forbid my children from doing it when they are grown! About a quarter mile into the two mile... More

The variation of reviews on this site are the result of very different experiences. I have tubed the here multiple times and my adventures STOPPED the after a terrible experience being thrown from my tube, pulled down the wrong arm of the river, and nearly drowned despite being a lifelong and very strong swimmer. The difference the last time was... More

I came thisclose to drowning today! On top of that my legs are bruised and ripped up from getting thrashed about over rocks. Had no idea how dangerous the conditions were. I took my son and his 3 friends for the outing. Thank God it was me and not them that experienced what I did. Luckily good samaritans rescued me.... More

although the water of the Esopus was very low as long as you could manuever the tube you could get down the water with little problems. very safe they supply helmets and life jackets' you supply the sun screen. not good for people that are young I would have to limit this adventure to ten or older (as long as...
