Pindar Vineyards is the largest vineyard on the Island, and it shows. I have visited Pindar 3 times, different times of the year, and it is always packed. You have to pay for tasting in advance. Our pourer poured, answered a few questions, then abandoned us to take care of someone else. So we got another pourer who proceeded to... More

I stopped at Pindar on Oct. 4, 2013 to pickup a couple bottles and received a confident recommendation that the Cab and Peacock Chard were drinking very well. I'll keep this review simple by stating that the Cab was like drinking water. Lifeless, no body, etc. The Chard was pretty much in the same category. These are just awful wines... More

This was my third L.I. winery--not in one day. We arrived toward the later side I'd say, 3 pm, there was live music, which was not audible from the deck. There is a large deck - and somehow plenty of seats. Insdie, the tasting room is large for my taste. The prices are not there to gouge you. In fact,... More

I love the wines and the staff is good. I believe that because of the size it seems to not be a homey as others are with a more hospital feel . Still worth the visit if crowed maybe pass to another time.

We stopped at two wineries for tastings for my birthday weekend. My parents really wanted to stop at Pindar because they had a coupon. MISTAKE! They offer coupons for a reason: They have disgusting wines and terrible service. We waited and waited... and waited for them to help us and then once they did we had to wait for what... More

We got a groupon for $15 for 2 people to taste 5 wines each, cheese and crackers and to keep the wine glasses. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the wines. Out side there is a huge deck to hang out on. We bought a bottle of wine and just hung out there. I was very... More

I have been going to the peconic region for years and my favorite has been the Pindar given the variety and consistency across there wine selection. Wine tasting over the weekend with friends and family is always enjoyable and the staff is extremely helpful and attentive. They are always packed and have events planned around the summer and is Joy... More

We had a limo bus. There were 12 of us & we did have reservations. We started here first which I think is a great idea. It's a very popular vineyard & we've been here before when it's very crowded. Starting here first was a great decision. We all got to stand up at the bar for our tastings. Sue... More

Yes, you do lose the charm of the smaller vineyards, but it is still quite nice. The wines are wonderful, the ambiance is nice, the prices are on par. Live music on the weekends. Nice way to pass some time, if a bit on the commercial side.

While Pindar is the largest vineyard on Long Island's North Fork, and it has been around quite a while, the wines are not the best and it has become very commercial. The tasting room is always packed, people pushing and shoving to get a sip of sub-par wine. Pindar also charges twice as much for a bottle of wine at... More
