Found this ferry service on the internet by chance whilst planning our road trip through USA. Saved us having to double-back through Long Island to get to Connecticut. Reserved on-line via our phone whilst driving through Long Island and were sent e-mail tickets which we had no means to print off. However, if you note the reservation number that will... More

We rode the ferry from Orient NY to New London CT after a long drive across Long Island. We reserved our ferry time on the drive and they quickly took our reservation and sent our tickets via email. When we arrived, the attendant scanned our ticket from our smart phone and printed the tickets from his mobile device. It was... More

Taken cross sound's ferry over to block island from New London many times but without car. Always a great experience. Therefore this was new experience for us to bring the car over to long island. Awesome decision! Ride was smooth and really a nice boat ride. Had some breakfast on board and were ready to go exploring on long island.... More

Over the years, I have probably taken these ferries hundreds of times, and I've experienced the improvements from the horrible Caribbean to the sea-worthy and comfortable Mary Ellen. Allowing for online reservations and advanced ticket processing has made boarding seamless. No dashing to the office and waiting in line to purchase tickets. Changes can be made the day of travel... A great way to get to the eastern end of Long Island while avoiding most of Long Island (or to get back to the mainland from there, in our case). As the Website says, do get to Orient Point at least 30 minutes ahead, even "pre-season" - this is one popular way to get from Long Island to Connecticut! Holds... More

We took the Cross Island Ferry from New London, CT to Orient Point recently and cannot imaging why anyone would want to drive it. The rate for driver/car and one passenger was reasonable; booked online and presented the receipt to get tickets. An extremely easy process. Get there 30 minutes ahead of time. The crew was extremely helpful and friendly;... More

We recently took the CSF to Orient Point for a fun day in Greenport. We'll I'm happy to say the ferry ride was very enjoyable and the crew was great. We've taken the ferry many times over the years and have never been disappointed. It's a fun and safe way to travel I would recommend this way of travel to... More

Expensive but efficient way to get around the NYC congestion. On a pretty day this is a very enjoyable day to view the various islands in the area. Get their like they recommend a half and hour early and they will get you on and off quickly. Can buy food before boarding and on ferry.

A great way to travel avoiding CT traffic. We live on Cape Cod and this made the trip from JFK seem much shorter. The drive up through Long Island was pleasant and the ferry made it even more enjoyable. The crew and shore side personnel were very helpful and polite.

We arrived on a Saturday, a day earlier than our reservation. They happily changed our itinerary and put us on the very next ferry. The ride was relaxing and very scenic. The total time was about an hour and a half. The on and off process was almost seamless, even though we were late arrival and last in line for... More
