There is a park and you can BBQ and have family gatherings. We simply drove in and sat on a swing bench facing the beach and then took a lovely stroll.

Beautifully scenic spot overlooking the Peconic Bay with views of Shelter Island, Gardiner's Island and the South Fork. Beach is very rocky and not ideal for bare feet, but water is generally calm and swimming is good (lifeguards on duty too). Nice little playground for the little kids and bbq grills for the adults. Freshwater showers an added bonus. Worth... More

Perfect footing for a long walk on the beach with your sneakers. Small and large stones and crunchy shells wash up on the beach forming a perfect place to walk along the beach at the waters edge. Bring a bag to collect rocks and shells, you won't find one on the beach, it's clean. There is a nice beach bathing... More

I had never been here before and I am glad I like to shell as a result...because I did not have a chair. and without a chair at this completely rocky beach, you are toast! it is on Gardiner's Bay, so the water is cool and refreshing and there is no wake or rip. I spent two hours walking and... More

We enjoyed visiting here for a few hours. I went with my husband, in laws, and 17 month old daughter. There are great playgrounds for the little ones and some swings for the adults to sit and watch the boats go by. Like most beaches I have visited on LI, the shore has a lot of rocks and visitors would... More

On a cool overcast windy day in In early June, we paid the $8 admission fee and found a near-empty parking lot at the end of the paved road, so empty that seagulls were dropping live conch shells there to break them open and ingest the contents. In fact we had to drive very carefully when leaving, to avoid gouging... More

We are retired and live on the North Fork for a few months each spring. It's a very nice drive out through Southold and East Marion to reach this remote state park at the end of the line. We went out a couple of times in the offseason and just drove in, parked, walked the beach and the grounds. But... More

My wife and I had our wedding here and it was fantastic. We were looking for venues on the North Fork and it was mind-boggling how much some places charged just for the space alone. We were struggling to find a location that fit our needs while not blowing our budget. In conversation someone just happened to mention attending a... More

A beautiful strip of land between Gardiner's Bay and local oyster ponds and salt marshes. The park is undergoing some nice upgrades, but even now it has a wonderful hiking trail with lots of spectacular views, local wildlife and interesting plants. A series of playgrounds for 2 to 5 year olds lifeguarded beach, and many picnic tables make this a... More
