As a child I visited Rock City and loved climbing on the rocks, following the trails and enjoying the outside. This is one of those places that offers layers of appreciation. As an adult, I am entranced with the images of the layers of rock, the formations, the greenery and the quiet of the air. I have never attended a... More

Rock City Park made for a fun day trip. We took our 3 grandchildren, ages 6 and 7. We heard choruses of "oh wow" and "awesome!" Throughout the hike. Wear good supportive shoes, there are steep stairs and scrambling over rocky trails. Keep a good eye and sometimes a firm hand on little ones, we had a "a grownup has... More

Great place to visit and hike. No issues, but a warning to the obese, inactive, injured or weak; there are some pretty good little climbs that they do not warn you about. It may be tougher then it seems. Beautiful rocks, and friendly staff.

The "Burma Shave" Style signs at the entrance, being greeted by the proprietor, the amazing gift shop / visitor center, and then the descent into the rock world below with its fabulous rock formations, passageways, and points of interest - just great in so many ways.

We stopped here while visiting the Allegheny National Forest. It was perhaps the best of the rocky areas we saw. It is worth the stop while in the area. The guy managing the gift shop/museum was very friendly & helpful. We hiked the trail thru these massive boulders & cliffs in about an hours or so. The trail is marked,... More

Beautiful place to take a hike for a couple of hours. Not too strenuous. They even allow dogs! I would not recommend the hike for small children. There are deep crevasses and areas where children could get hurt.

I took my children on a day trip here and it is a great natural place to discover what nature has to offer! These rocks are so huge and an amazing sight to see. You need to stay on the path and wear sneakers, you are walking in nature after all!

I am certain this place has seen better days. The welcome centre and trail could certainly use some upkeep. Having said that, it is well worth the stop for only $5 and an hour long walk among the massive rocks. I recommend.

We recently went to Rock City Park. This is a few hours from our home and a nice day trip. This is a great place to bring kids for some hiking and a picnic. Our grandkids are 7 and 14 and they had a blast. We went late morning and finished with a picnic. Such a fun family outing. I... More
