This is just a delight for the garden lover. We roamed the property for about two hours, taking in the walled garden, the lilac walk, the lake path, and the mansion. The landscaping was amazing. Our only regret was that we were there too early for the rose garden to be in bloom but it was a trade off for... More

The Old Westbury Gardens Mansion Tour is a beautiful experience for all families of all ages. This will make it the third Gold Coast mansion tour so far. The mansion tour was done by Mea and it was very educational and increased my knowledge of the Phipps family. The mansion is fitted and preserved with high quality furniture, statues, materials.... I played hooky today and visited Old Westbury Gardens aka the Phipps Estate. What a gem! The day was perfect and the gardens are so pretty and full of life right now. I hopped on the house tour as well. The tour guide was a very nice women, and I know they are volunteers, but I felt the tour was... More

I love this place so much I go a number of times a year. They always have differnt flowers blooming and its just a delight. The tour of the house is nice to. As far as time allotment goes I personally always make this a all day thing especially if you like taking pictures.

Have. Been here many times and during different seasons. Very serene and peaceful in strolling the beautiful gardens! Do take a tour! Each guide has focused on somewhat different aspects of it's history! Yoga in the garden a must as the teacher is truly amazing! Dog days also a great idea and experience! Highly recommend!

The reflecting pool with their water lilies awesome. I know there are many events here during the year unfortunately so many of these places have disappeared on Long Island this is one... More

Old westbury gardens is a great place to visit but especially nice at Christmas time. In the springtime you will get a chance to enjoy the gardens and flowers which are always spectacular. Plan to spend several hours strolling both the gardens and the house. A wonderful time

I assume it should be really nice. Still we couldn't enter since the site was close. We didn't see It's mantioned anywhere. So just be advised that the site is close during winter.
