We went to Old Westbury Gardens on a day with thunder storm. We got a chance to walk around the gardens in between those episodic rain showers. It was cool in the gardens in a supposedly hot July afternoon. We walked around the lake, the vegetable garden, the pool. The place was absolutely gorgeous. The House itself was full of... More

Our friend took us here on a warm Saturday afternoon. We started walking around the lake, then off to the children's houses, and finally to the walled gardens. They had the most colorful water lilies-my favs-that I've ever seen. There were two colors that I loved and saw for the first time. The array of flowers in the walled gardens... More

Come here is late spring early summer when the flowers have started to bloom. Bring Lunch, and a Picnic Blanket. Enjoy peace surrounded by Jericho Tnpke, the LIE and other noisy distractions, but not inside the fence.

We spend the morning wondering around this lovely estate. The interior tour wasn't totally worth the time but the guide was very knowledgable of the family that owned the home.

One of my favorite parks on Long Island is great to come for an afternoon. Upon parking, the mansion is right in front. After exploring this historic home, head out and enjoy the formal gardens. Admission is $10 and worth it. The park is large enough to spend a couple hours. Only complaint is that's it's under JFK airport's in... More

Beautiful mansion. You get the feeling you can know the people who lived there by their possessions and property.

My family and I went to Westbury Gardens and took a guided tour of the mansion. Everything was beautiful! Bring a picnic lunch for added enjoyment.

Beautiful gardens, historic buildings. It's best to go on a nice day when you can be comfortable outdoors. But the historic buildings are worth seeing.

Was here in May - lovely gardens and house. After your leisurely stroll through the gardens! Spread out a picnic blanket and enjoy a nice picnic lunch. Or you can use one of their many picnic benches. There are many activities going on at different times of the year.
