The owner does a great job of keeping movies and food reasonable and has an incredible collection of old movie memorabilia. Great theater.

Perfect for a cold or rainy day. You HAVE to go here! The movie theaters are not huge, or stadium seating - but what a place in Old Forge! The lobby is like a museum of different cameras for motion pictures and still photos. The snack bar is reasonable in terms of price, with a great selection of snacks including... More

I love this theater! It has such character. I go here whenever I am in Old Forge. The tickets and candy are reasonably priced. I am so glad to see that they went digital so that they can stay open so people can continue to enjoy it. I did make a donation to help keep it going and hope that... More

The Strand theater in Old Forge will take you back in time. Owners Bob and Helen have put a lot of love in to this old time movie theater. Grab a pint of Ben & Jerry's and sit back and enjoy the show. Don't forget to give their beautiful husky a scratch behind the ears before you leave.

Talk about old theaters, look at a million cameras from the past, and 6 screens to watch the top new movies. Wonderful!

This is a restored theatre showing new movies on several screens. We loved the effort which had been put into this place. There was so much to look at while we were waiting. The price was great...and the service very friendly. Make sure to leave some time to take it all in

In a time where we have to wait in long lines, pay outlandish prices, and sit in over crowded theaters The Strand Theater is a breath of fresh air and proof that the independent movie theater owner can still make it in America. Do your self and your kids a favor and show them how the movies used to be,... More

This theater is a gem. I've had the great pleasure of seeing two films at this theater in my times visiting the Adirondacks, and it doesn't disappoint. The owners are very friendly, the decor is perfect for an independent theater and is a reason to go all in itself, and the selection of films showing always has something for everyone.... More

Just love watching a movie at the Strand Theatre. Came to Old Forge for our annual Columbus Day Weekend and saw Gravity. Such a pleasant environment and the best touch was having your dog come and sit with me. Such a good boy - sorry I had to give him a little popcorn. Can't wait to view a movie again!

We visited the Strand and met Noah the theatre usher, who walked us to our theatre and seat and only asked for a handful of popcorn in return. A smart dog and a vintage theatre in the process of going digital. This is a true Film theatre decorated with old cameras and projection equipment. A must see while inOld Forge
