Last year my group and I were lucky enough to get "Dingo" as our guide. This year we requested him! All around, the guides are very knowledgeable of the river and surrounding areas. Safety and fun are their top priorities and they exceed in both. We will definitely be returning next year.

If you are visiting the Lake George area be sure to take the time out to try ARO adventures these folks sure know how to have fun and make you part of that experience. Our Guide Steve was great you could tell very quickly that he enjoyed doing what he was doing from start to finish. Some of our team... More

I've been white-water rafting several other times in Costa Rica and NY state however I am not a pro or expert. I picked ARO for a Black River rafting trip based on reviews and the longevity of their business. There were some pros but the cons really cast a shadow on my overall experience. I went on a Sunday and... More

I am glad you thought our staff was great and am sorry about the excessive safety related waiting above and below some of the rapids that you experienced, as that amount of wait time is NOT our normal procedure. The day you went was unusual in two regards, as you noted the water level was extremely high for that time... More

We went after a lot of rain so there was a LOT of water! The rapids were amazing! Our boat was the lead boat and 5 out of 7 of us went flying over another person and into the water. There were some injuries but they were professionally addressed. I would not recommend this trip for children. The food was... More

Couldn't have been better. River was running high. Class 4 all the way. Went with my 3 sons. 2 were 20 plus and my young son being 11. Dylan our guide was very experienced and knowledgeable. Could not take the smiles off of all our faces as the trill of the river set the pace. This was the best Father's... More

Four of us did the Black River Run with ARO in Watertown. Our guide, Chris, was excellent. He was extremely personable, humourous and very knowledgeable. All staff members were friendly which made the whole excursion very enjoyable. The all you could eat chicken and beer barbecue at the end was very tasty and was a perfect way to end the... More

I'll start with the good news: the guide on our raft was great, very raft savvy and great at steering our boat. The bad news: We showed up on time( our family) but a school group rafting that same trip showed up about an hour late. This trip was on the Hudson based out of North River. This caused us... More

Valeri, thanks for taking the time to provide us with feedback. I am glad that you thought the guide was great, they are key to the on-river experience. As for your comments on the pre and post trip aspects, I have discussed them extensively with my partner who manages the Hudson River operation. We were already working on plans to... More

This was my first time white water rafting and it was great !!. We went down the Hudson river (~17 miles) which at the time was a category three (aka grade 3). The trip with Adirondack River Outfitters (ARO) included the rental equipment (paddle, lifejacket, helmet, boots and wetsuit if needed), the white water rafting experience with a guide and... More

Had a great first time rafting with our Guide Critter and Dingo in the other raft. My sister went with me to help me finish off my bucket list. Excellent time with this company had a chicken dinner waiting for us after returning from a good and fun workout on the Hudson.

We had a great first time rafting experience with A.R.O. Adventures! We did not know what to expect, but everyone was very helpful and ensured that we had a great time. Our guide was Critter and he really made the trip. He knows the Hudson like the back of his hand and he was hilarious with his jokes; I highly... More
