Some interesting artefacts, but insufficient information to accompany the exhibits. More information about life and historical maritime Santorini would give much needed context to the items on display, particularly the photographs. The figureheads are the highlight in my opinion. Still, it's air conditioned. If you consider the entrance fee a donation towards the conservation of Santorini's history (let's face it... More

Visited this museum with an open mind as reading previous reviews, it was interesting with lots of interesting artifacts, however there is no story to provide the visitor with a journey through history, it is all mixed up and not really joined up. In addition the information presented is mostly in Greek, yes this is expected but have seen translations... More

We did enjoy the temporary break from the heat of the sun, but the museum was fairly run down and not that informative. There were a fair amount of things to see, but nothing that really tied them together, very few stories, or anything to give the artifacts interest or relevance.

Very small mueseum. It has some intersitng thngs to look at , but, it involves a very short vist. If you do not have much time in Oia, it worth not going to the mueseum

Paid 2 euros to get in, but only spent about 20min walking around. Lots of old photos of people, Oia and boats and various memorabilia, but was expecting more of a narration of working life at the turn of the century and how Oia survived.

Small and full of little bits and pieces of maritime related items. Lots of models of varying quality. Big selection of potentially interesting B&W photos and memorabilia but without any English captions or explanations interest is minimal. A harmless way to idle away up to half hour if you feel like a change from views and cruise ship mobs.

If you're not a maritime buff, it Is still an ok diversion for an hour or so, and for €3 not a bad value. It would help to be able to speak and read Greek. Not all of the displays are translated into English. Some are, though, and they are kinda neat.

The museum is hidden in a narrow street at oia. It doesn't take much time to visit (approximately 20 minutes) and it is worth it. It is a pretty small museum. At the ground floor, there are naval instruments and at the top floor, there are ship models and naval documents and uniforms. It is quite an interesting experience. I... More
