This review is only for the sunset in Oia. Our day leading up to the sunset (including the hike from Fira to Oia and Gelato at Lolitas was excellent). The sunset was very mediocre, would not place in my top 5. Lots of haze on the horizon, son just sorta gets obscured by the haze, you never really see it... More

I'd recommend walking further past the castle, towards the windmill. It's quieter down there, and you'll more than likely find a... More

Beautiful sunset but best enjoyed while sipping your wine in the coziness of a restaurant avoiding the crazy crawds

… such as watching the sun go down into the sea from Oia in Santorini...just be sure you get a a good spot. In july the sunset is at 8:30pm, so by 8-ish the magic begins.

We were staying in fira and made the trip over to see the sunset in oia. The hike was beautiful, but our experience in oia was underwhelming. We got there a couple hours prior to sunset and viewing places were already getting packed. We found a crowded perch and saw a lovely sunset, but the crowds cheering, the hustle of... More

This sunset was spectacular and is worth seeing at least once. We were present in the end of July 2014 and the sun usually sets around 8:30pm however it is good to get there early to secure a good viewing point as it gets quite crowded. Make sure you have plenty of battery power on your camera because the pictures... More
