My study abroad friends and I came to stay in Oia for a few days and got an AirBnB about 20ft from the ruins. The views are amazing everywhere, but you can see everything from there. It's an amazing place to go star watching at as well!

When I visited Oia, I was actually searching for the ruins and found myself at the end of the Oia where the Kastro stones are found. It was the perfect spot to take pics of the caldera, windmill and the white washed houses and structures on the other side of the the town. This is also where tourists marvel the... More

If you're wondering where people get the best photos of Oia's whitewashed buildings - look no further! Great views and not too far to walk. The stairs down to Ammoudi bay are also located to the right just before you get to the castle ruins.

The day we visited Oia Beach was particularly hot. The marbled walks meandering through various souvenir shops, stalls and restaurants reflected the heat of the midday sun. Two of my companions decided to stop and rest near in a roofed area near the restrooms. As curious as I am I continued the very scenic path and ended at the Castle... More

Great sights to these ruins. Good outdoor sight lines to surrounding area. Beautiful sunsets and good restaurants.

Definitely a must to be visited during your visit of Oia. Great views from the place! That's from where you see the windmills and the whole Caldera, as well as the whole town from both ends.

Most people come to this location to take photos of the sunset and not to see the ruins. In my opinion not so much of the ruins and maybe better seen from the water for a sunset cruise or something similar. One can take photos of the rest of the island and not during sunset as it will get very... More

Beautiful views but make sure you time it right or you will share with lots other people. Down quite a few steps so not suitable for those with a disability.

This was another great stop along our hike across the island and the view is amazing, would recommend stopping here if you are in the Oia.

Amazing ruins, but even more amazing is the view from there, both of the sunset and the caldera. Definitely a place to go for photographers.
