There is literally nothing here and ruins is all that it is. Unless you have a guide that can talk to you about the history of the place, this can be skipped.

Not much left of the ruins themselves, but the views of the bay below and surrounding islands are immense. The bus from Fira takes about 20 mins and only costs €1.60. The ruins are a 5 minute walk from the bus drop off point and there are numerous cafes and souvenir shops along the way

The ruins are not all that impressive as ruins go, but the reason why they were built to begin with is the unparalleled view they have of the caldera and the sea. Great scenic shot.

Really nice spot to watch a gorgeous sunset in Oia, if you being crowded doesn't bother you, literally :-) the ruins are true ruins...yet the Oia village hustle bustle is all around it...

The ruins of the old castle is a busy viewing area and expect lots of professional (and amature) photographers setting up their cameras for that one special shot. You'll want to do it yourself so be patient. Get there early in the day or later after the cruise ship crowds leave.

Climbed up here from Amoudi Bay and really enjoyed it. The ruins are interesting but don't begin to compare to the ruins you get to see up at Ancient Thira (amazing up there!!!). It's really all about the 360 degree views you get standing on those ruins. You can get some fantastic photos of all the white buildings arranged on... More

It is the view that matters here, not the ruin. This ruin is in the end of Oia romantic's small road. From the ruin you can see Amoudi Bay, Oia and caldera view in general. I can see that this is the favorite place for pre-wedding photography.
