Gorgeous place to be and stare at the drawing the cliffs make within the sea waves. The sights are immensely beautiful, and the whole place has something special in it. Go there, you won't regret it.

It was a very hot day in July when we decided to do the steep walk up the Falaise d'Amont on the eastern side up Etretat, up to the chapel perched at the top. We then walked on a couple of miles before returning. The best part was the stupendous views from the cliff top and all along. The worst... More

Stunning. It's not wonder it was a favorite retreat for Impressionist painters. Like a place out of a fairy tale! One of the most beautiful, unique places I've ever been in my life.

Don't just look from afar. Walk down the beach and up the wooden stairs to walk out on the cliffs and admire the view! You'll be so glad you did!

The cliffs to the east and west of the promenade are readily accessible after relatively moderate climbs via stairways and paths. Photographers choosing the better lighting conditions so go east in the morning and west in the evening. Monet has a lot to answer for as these cliffs must be about the most famous on France.

The cliffs of Etretat are located on either side of the pebble stone beach. They can easily be accessed via the sea boulevard. Well kept paths allow for a beautiful walk, lasting up to a few hours. Given the absence of railing the cliffs have preserved a natural, raw look. You can approach the edge and take adrenaline pumping looks... More
