What an amazing way to see this wonderful area. Both in our 60's we had no trouble doing our 16.5k on the Dordogne. The staff were very helpful and informative. We left early in the morning and had a couple of stops along the way from Vitrac to Beynac, pulling in at Beynac village and taking an hours walk up... More

Great service, especially since you are picked up at the end of the trip and driven back to the start. The restaurant was also great. Fantastic ice cream.

Dad and granddad enjoy canoing. Mum would like to try but what about baby Seraphina and granny (who isn't very mobile)? Canoe Loisirs on the Dordogne gave us the answer. Dad (double canoe) and granddad (covered kayak) set off from Vitrac and 3 hrs later came ashore at Castlenaud to meet granny and baby for a picnic. After lunch mum... More

This is a must do if you're in the Dordogne area. Picturesque and relaxing. Canoes are easily managed in a river that flows fairly steadily most of the time. We paddled from Vitrac - Beynac, past glorious stone villages and hilltop castles. We did have to exert ourselves from time to time, so if you're less fit or injured or... More

Hi and thanks for your review. We don't stop in Beynac town because of the trafic jam there that would make impossible for us to have a shuttle every hour. There is one castle to see on the last part but I think you unfortunatelly misted it. Next time I'll tell you how to see it before you pull off... More

We had a great time canoeing down the river. We were the only customers at 10:00am and the temperature was great at 21C. This was a long sought after activity for my husband and could not have had a better time. In high summer, be prepared to cover up, but in springtime it was perfect. I highly recommend!

My husband and 12 year old daughter and I loved travelling down the Dordogne River. We were amazed at the views of castles, cliffs and towns as we canoed along. It was easy paddling, as you could float along with the current. Good service with this company... no problems at all.

We have just returned from a lovely day on the dordogne after hiring a canoe with Loisirs. We departed @ Vitrac and finished @ Beynac. We left @ 10:30ish and stopped off for an hour arriving at the end @ 14:30. Give yourself lots of time as they under estimate your ability to dawdle! The waterproof tub was big enough... More

We had a fantastic afternoon paddling down the Dordogne river. It was off-season, early April, and for the majority of the trip (from Vitrac to Beynac - about 3 hours), we had the whole river to ourselves. Apparently it gets extremely busy in peak times, so we considered ourselves lucky to be able to enjoy it in such peaceful conditions.... More

This was one of the highlights of our trip. We went in mid-April and the weather was incredible (we were so lucky)! This was on my MUST DO list and I'm so glad we went. We canoed from Vitrac to Beynac (perfect distance). The scenery is beautiful. It was so relaxing to just sit there and listen to the birds... More

An easy gentle river, great cliffs, villages perched on the rocks above the river, stop where you want, drift or paddle. We had a great day, well worth the drive.
