We love to canoe, and read about this in a guidebook. We selected this canoe company because the hotel where we stayed in Sarlat had discount coupons. I realize there are other companies offering the same service, but we were very happy with the service we received with Canoes Loisirs. They were friendly, very organized and their equipment was in... More

Eight of us, mostly members of The Skiff Club, Teddington had a delightful trip over 5 days from Beaulieu to Beynac (65 miles), starting 6th October 2014, staying at hotels organised by Canoes Loisirs. The company is friendly and helpful (Tom, our point of contact, was as genial when you met him as his correspondence would suggest), booking was easy,... More

Paddling down the River Cher in a two-person canoe was one of the highlights of our trip. The river is wide and fast so the current pretty much carries you downstream without a lot of effort. The scenery along the way is absolutely gorgeous. We only wish we had taken the longer trip which finishes by Chateau Beynac.

These three seniors eventually figured out what to do and how to do it. The river was very calm and, thank goodness, there were very few canoes on the river. Otherwise, there may have been some collisions due to our lack of canoe skills. We were only supposed to go as far as Castlenaud. There were no flags or indications... More

Our day canoeing down the Dordogne was the best day of our trip ! We were travelling with ,family - our group of 8 people ranged from 22years to 60 years and it was perfect for all . We had 4 canoes each with a watertight barrel (2Euros each ) for our picnic ,towels etc ) In early October we... More

Low season is the best to enjoy a quiet river with nearly nobody paddling it. Thanks for your review anyway. More

can't add too much to this. Pretty easy to find; just drive through Vitrac, toward the "port" (not torwards Vitrac village). if you are coming from north of the Dordogne you'll cross the river on the bridge through Vitrac and it is immediately on the left. Tom was great, entire thing was flawless, everything was included, Paddles, life jackets, waterproof... More

Thanks for you review. Best way to enjoy the river is like you did stop and have a walk around in the villages. See you again. Tom More

Easy paddling on calm water. No experience required. Took us about 2.5 hours at a relaxed place. There are two places to go ashore. Nice way to see the two little towns. 18 euros per person.

Bon. Absolutely BON! Just do it, i say. We went from Vitrac to just beyond Beynac, and would do it again with this same top-notch company.

For my first time in a canoe, the Castlenaud to Beynac trip was without a doubt the highlight of our holiday. We left it until the second to last day, therefore had visited all the sites above us I.e Beynac chateau, Domme, Castlenaud etc but it was lovely to see from a different angle. We packed a few beers with... More

The best way to see towns and castles by the Dordogne river is to rent a canoe from one of the rental companies. Canoes Loisirs is one of them. For 38 euros you get a canoe for two, a waterproof containers for your valuables, a shuttle services for getting back to the point of departure and 16 km / 10... More
