Take the stairs and decend into the gorge to feast your eyes on one of the most spectacular views you will ever see. Mother Nature has outdone herself here in the Niagara Gorge, no matter what the season! Please dress for the weather, wear appropriate footwear and bring plenty of snacks/water. Word to the wise: please don't touch the water... More

This is the place to look down at the gorge cut by the river below the falls. A great view with plenty of parking.

This is a well maintained part on the Banks of river. From this Park you can easily watch Canadian side just opposite. This park is near main market and many local attractions. Worth visit.

Briefly stopped here on a coach trip to the falls, and was a little underwhelmed. Its cool, but only worth a 10 minute look. If you're driving past on the way to the fort (as we were) then definitely stop. But I wouldn't go out of your way to go here.

A great choice for a picnic, a hike, photography, or a short walk. There is something for everyone here. Plenty of convenient parking. The park includes a wooded picnic area with grills, tables, swings and bathrooms. There is a learning center with dioramas of the entire Niagara escarpment, historical artifacts and photos. Staffed by knowledgeable volunteer to answer your questions... More

With a name with Whirlpool i was expecting more. We were underwhelmed. We stopped for about 10 mins. on our way to Old Fort Niagara.

Just a short walk from the free parking lots to see the whirlpool from above. A wonder of nature. You can see the river take a side cut dead end too. Interesting to view from above

This truly is one of the wonders of the world. You can get fairly close to the rushing roaring water (safely) and experience the awesome power of Niagara.

This view from the top of the gorge really gives an appreciation of the force of the water coming down the valley. As it was a visit in October, the trees were in the colours of the fall - magnificent! For those with an appetite for adventure, there is the option to take a trip across the gorge in a... More

The Whirlpool State Park is FREE and a nice place to stop and enjoy different views of the Niagara River, sit and enjoy the view in a quieter setting and have a picnic. The water is a beautiful color and where the channel narrows and turns you can see the whirlpool undulate and spin. No, it's NOT the falls, but... More
