We viewed the whirlpool while on the US tour and the Canadian tour. The US tour gave us the better view. Up close jet boat excursions and a cable car ride above the whirlpool are available. The cable car ride originates from Canada.

This was fun to see. We didn't have a lot of time but glad we'd stopped. The whirlpools are very cool and easy to see. Looked as if there were some boat tours also. Would be a good idea for next time. Not sure if they came from the American or Canadian side.

We packed a picnic lunch everyday we were at the falls and this was one of the stops...nice and shady for lunch. The park is well kept up, there are clean facilities and picnic tables. Free to enter and park. Access to nice trail along the upper ridge of the Niagara and also stairs to the lower level. Great view of the Whirlpool on the Niagara river.

It was interesting especially as the electric dam was right there also and to find out 50% of the water goes into the electric co and not over the falls.

We were told about this cool hike from a waitress (thanks :) . It was a fun hike for our family with our 11 and 13 year olds. It ended up being 2hours of hiking 300 + stairs down then up , some are pretty rough . Found markings in the concrete from 1918 probably when the stairs and much... More
