Just went on the Maid of the Mist this past Monday for the 4th time, but the first time from the American side. Took my 2 boys for the first time and my 9 year old was not excited until he got down on the boat & started getting wet. It was his favorite thing in Niagara Falls. He did... more
What are you, kidding me?? You're in NIAGARA FALLS, Sparky. Just put the damn garbage bag on and get on the boat, willya. Tips--- Go early to avoid the crowds, particularly on the weekends. We got on the boat about 11:00am on a gorgeous sunny Friday morning in June and there were, maybe, 60 people on the boat altogether. (They... more
We have the pleasure of enjoying the Maid of the Mist on two separate visits: once from the Canadian side (2003), and once from the American side (2008). Both rides were extremely enjoyable (and remarkably similar), with the exception of the wait times. Whether its by fluke or by design, line-ups at the American dock were far, far less in... more
We spent 2 days in Niagara and really diodn't like the place. The town is horrible. Full of tacky Wax Work Museums and all sorts of crap like that. But The Falls are of course STUNNING and the maid of the mist was one of the best tourist things i have ever done. There were no real queues and it... more
Took my 9 year old son to Niagara Falls for his birthday. The Maid of the Mist was a necessary and awesome trip! You will get wet but they take you so close to the falls! It's an amazing sight! Do this!!! more
We were there in July 2008. I would have to agree with many of the previous postings. Yes, you should definitly do it from the American side, the lines are a lot shorter, Also, do this AFTER the Cave of the Winds so you can use the sandals and your own shoes will not get wet. We actually did CoW... more

We were stunned by what happenned next we were queuing up with... more
Dont get me wrong, this is cool but not the best. The boat ride is a little boring and you dont get very wet. The ride is about 15 minutes long.At the end you you can go up on these stairs and thats were you get wet. when you go up(and down) you go on this elavator thta is pretty... more
At $12.50 it must be one of the best value trips anywhere! We were lucky enough to be there in late September with clear blue skies and 75 degree temperature. On the American side there were virtually no lines. Trip was fantastic...yes we got slightly damp but soon dried out in the sunshine. Best way to see the Falls..no question. more
